Come on guys, there must be people here that watched Super Mario Bros. Z back in the day. I remember when I discovered Alvin Earthworm truly did stop, a year after the release of episode 8... and then, a few months ago, he made a video, a Tweet, a Patreon... reboot!
I wasn't getting my hopes up all too much yet, but I was definitely hugely looking forward to the release.
And now, after months... it's there! And it's amazing! Truly, this is probably more than worth the time of most of you.

Even if you didn't follow Super Mario Bros. Z back in the day, you should still definitely watch this! Perhaps it's even better if you didn't follow it back in the day, as this is a complete reboot, which means the story, starting from the beginning again, is mostly the same as in the original series (which was ended before its ending, but still well into the story). But if you've never seen it before, you don't know what's going to happen, so that should be quite cool too.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling, watch it already! (or find some time to do it later this week or month, as it is quite long d;))

Bring back old memories, say what you thought, discuss! Don't make me need to bump this thread in order to get replies d;)

Oh, those were the days. I used to watch ever episode when it was coming out, but I was really small at the time, I think I was 9 or something, I forgot but I know I was young. My mom would put it on for me because she'd just put any old Mario video on, I didn't really know how to read either, but the fights were awesome!

Haha, I kind of watched it secretly back then, as I was about the same age and my mother probably wouldn't have appreciated me watching videos rated 13+ (the rating is on the high side though, if possible I'd say 9+ or so, but there's nothing between Everyone and Teen in this system).

I loved watching it when it came out, How long until ep. 2 of the new one? Hope it didn't suffer the same fate as the original.
Well, I'm not sure if there ever will be an episode 2. I mean, I had honestly not expected one in the first place, even though Mark seemed really optimistic.
However, he got into quite a depression, and I'm not sure if he'll be able to do good work on this again. Unfortunately. :c

Nostalgia aside, it's an animated glorified fanfiction. Fanfiction can be good but this is fanfiction that feels like the essence of fanfiction from the 2000s.

I don't know what i was expecting but i thought this would turn into a whole page discussing the ethics of what makes a good fanfic. Thankfully that didn't happen.

Do you mind it? I really like it the way it is now, personally.
Well... it doesn't bother me THAT much...but...
Let's just say that if I was making a series like this and I chose the Mario & Luigi art style I would actually go through the trouble of creating M&L-style sprites for all the other non-M&L things. So I'd make my own M&L-styled Rawk Hawk, M&L-styled Lakitu and Kame- WAIT A SECOND! There already ARE M&L-styled Lakitus and Kameks! They would just need a few custom poses.
But I realize not everyone is that anal about consistent art styles. :STongue3:
(heh, anal... :c8:)
