Wario game remakes

I just realized that, like, none of the Wario games - be it Wario Land or WarioWare - have ever gotten the remake treatment.

Which should go first? I'd say it should be Wario Land 1. They have to start easy. I'd also love to see him be able to use some new baddy-trashing abilities in it too. (like how Samus has Aeion powers and others in Samus Returns)

Virtual Boy Wario Land, it's reputation of pretty much being the best thing to come out of the system, on top of the lack of VB re-releases already stand as solid selling points that could lead to satisfactory returns, which is what Wario Land needs, the series has a good track record in sales, but such a release has to keep that trend up at all costs, for the sake of Nintendo not leaving the series somewhere in the hiatus basement again.

Is it easy for the first WarioWare to be remade? I see how the others wouldn't make as much sense due to different control schemes.

A Wario Land 1 remake would be pretty nice to see. It's one of two Wario Land games not already in colour, so it'd be quite a jump there.

I would say Virtual Boy Wario Land, as Warelander said. It is in my opinion the Wario game that has the most potential for a remake: With the 3DS, you can give it improved 3D, colour, and a voiced Wario. There could even be an expansion of the original game, with extra levels and unlockable bosses.

I honestly think Virtual Boy Wario Land is the only game that would benefit from being remade. The reasons for it being a solid candidate for a remake have been noted by others.
I think Super Mario Land 3, Wario Land II, Wario Land 3 and Wario Land 4, though, won't be able to improved on. I think any remakes of those games is likely to be inferior to the original, and that'd be a shame.

Wario Land 3 deserves a remake.
The game would benefit from having a better system telling you where to go, and reminding you specificly what branches in a level you currently have unlocked thanks to whar treasure.

I think the opposite: that every Wario Land game would be able to have a decent remake, save for maybe Wario Land 4, because honestly I can't think of any improvements for that game.

Hm... perhaps. That is something that might make people struggle in the original.

Who knows. I don't see many options for the others either. Perhaps the original Wario Land could get an optional multi-player mode (where you can both cooperate but also kill each-other, by accident or intentionally), and a challenge mode similar in spirit to that of Super Mario Bros Deluxe.

If they were to add a two player mode then I'd much rather have Mona as the second character, I mean her going treasure hunting herself is not without precedent.

Oh, I'd be in favour of that too, actually. I think that might actually work better than Waluigi for the hat power-ups.

But will they use her original distinct design, or her "generic fucking Rhythm Heaven character" look in Game & Wario?

The latter's more likely now, so....no thank you.

Well hopefully Ko Takeuchi won't be the artist for the next Wario Land game.

I love the man's art and style but it just doesn't work at all for Wario.
