Coin usage on the Wario Forums

This is a follow up to another topic (here), where I want to discuss the use of coins in general.

The coins idea was added as a neat gimmik to collect stuff, and are earned based on how much you interact around the forums. So the idea is to motivate people to use the forums in order to collect coins to get goodies.
I'm thinking we might not be using this idea the right way. Considering we have a resources section, as well as a media section, I wonder if the things we post there should be tagged with a price in fake money. Sadly the resources section is pretty much unseen and the media one is almost forgotten, but if we can make it work, we can generate some activity to force people to be capable of downloading those said resources and such.

Now this can be used for way more than just that, but I have no idea how or where. So suggestions could be interesting here too.
The topic of discussion is if we should or not apply a price to resources (and other places) and if we should expand to other ideas to make use of these coins somehow.

Not sure what's going on with you, but when I add a resource, I can indeed set a price in credits/coins. So if you want to charge forum money for downloads, there's no reason you can't.

Media is a different matter, but in that case it makes perfect sense there's no easy option. I mean, an image is an image. Even the whole 'register to view attachments' is more of a pain in the ass there, since you don't need to download anything to get the most out of it and hence the roadblock feels more artificial than anything else.

But yeah, you should be able to charge for resources as is, assuming there's no permission screw up there.

I'm not saying we can't, I'm saying I don't see many doing it. If all of us did it, then we would make that fake money useful. However, I don't see many downloading resources anyway.

All my resources now require coins to download, those coins being free, I'd advise to start using the forums if you want to download them. Keep in mind that all songs are the most recent versions with improvements, some of which sound different than the Youtube version. These will also receive updates, unlike Youtube.

Okay, that's neat. You should now advertise said versions on YouTube and Twitter, to see how many of your subscribers you can get to register accounts and post for coins!
