I always just used the jumping strategy and to be honest, it never even crossed my mind to toss the enemies at him, kind of suprised to hear that people did it that way.
Since it was my first Wario game, Mario mechanics were still my first answer in platformers. Thankfully after that, I tapped into superior Wario reflexes.
Honestly, I never knew you could beat him by jumping on his head! First thing I noticed is the huge size, I thought "Nope, no jumping on this guy's head!"
It was a bit of "learn how to deal with guys bigger than you" kind of deal... I think I learned that from the Stove Canyon Boss, where you have to throw those disgusting balls that come out of his nose right back in his face... Since that, throwing stuff became the best fighting option in bigger boss battles.
I think you were just told, by a mod, to knock it off.
Anyways, since I have made a post here, I will say that I never knew that you could jump on him. My thought process was the same as BlueJackG's when fighting him.
Still, now that I know it's possible, I think I should try it just to see if I can.
