Did anyone get stuck in a Wario Land level cause they overthought things?

As in, got stuck for ages trying something stupidly difficult... and then realised they weren't actually supposed to tackle the puzzle or level that way? And that the real solution was much simpler and easier than the one they tried?

Cause I know I've done this in quite a few levels. For example, a few times, I tried using Fire Wario's abilities all over the level thinking some wall or another would be affected, then realised I just had to take out some frog creature with it. In another case, I mistakenly thought those sea gulls flew away the minute Wario stepped on them, so rushed through the section far faster than was intended as a result.

Anyone else had instances like this?

as a child, I remember staying like 10 minutes at the beginning of wario land II, when wario is asleep

(it does open an alternate path, but only after beating the game once)

Wait, you can only do that after beating the game once?

I recall seeing a bunch of magazines telling you to do that right away...

It actually is possible to not wake up Wario at the beggining of the game.
it's just that it takes 1 or 2 minutes if you didn't beat the game, and only 30 seconds if you did beat the game.
So yeah. It's completly possible. Just takes longer

Back on topic:
you know the steal gate in the steep canyon that requires the spray can to soften?
i actualy thought u need to break it with Fire Wario! And i spent forever trying to manouvre Fire Wario to get to the little platform and burn the gate. When i finally did it, and it didn't work, i was so disapointed

YES! Ohhh yes oh god, that was so stupid.

When I first got to the boss of the mysterious factory in Wario Land 2 I thought I had to perfectly time trowing the bombs so they would blow up on their own in the air and hit syrups flying saucer with their explosion.
I didn't realize I could just hit her with them immediately and it would count.
In hindsight it's amazing that I actually pulled it off like that as a child. I was soooo happy! :D ...

....
...and then the charging cable came loose and shut off my game before it could save. ;n;

Yeah in wario land shake it, one of the casino levels had a mission where you had to blow up 3 bombs simmataneously and it actually was so easy!1 You just have to shake the bombs to bow out thier fuses lol  I thought you had to like find a special type of two lottery machines and I was stuck their for a month1

Recently, I played Wario Land 2 again and took the sleep-in route, and in 'To the Castle!!' I got stuck with trying to get to the Treasure Room. The one where you're in a room full of those penguin bastards and you need to bring one over to the right to break the Goom blocks? Yeah, that. I spent ages trying to throw one in weird ways to get them up, but either the fact they were so big would make them touch the ceiling and knock them from Wario's hand, or the camera would jolt and reset their locations.

Turns out I'd forgotten about the charge throw. Go me.

For some reason a lot of people forget about the charge throw. Something that I almost always used

I would only ever use it when it was necessary, really, I can't think of any case where I used it voluntarily. I think the thing about it in WL2 in particular is that this is before charging would make Wario flash? I know that doesn't matter too much for me seeing as I actually played WL2 last, but nonetheless I think the added visual indicator of what's happening that came later on had a lot of value. I've taken a few different people through WL4's Hall of Hierogylphs, at the very least, and the most common thing that people don't quite grasp at first is the charge throw.

I got stuck on one of the factory levels in Wario Land 2 for the longest time. In one of the factory levels you have to glide to the end of level door as flat Wario in a certain way. I thought that you had to hit a switch to make a platform appear for flat Wario to jump to.
