Do the WarioWare characters know about Mario?

And you know, the other well known characters of the Marioverse?

Because 9-Volt recognised Wario when he realised Wario was living in the same city, but how about the other characters? And do they recognise the Mario cast as video game characters or as characters from the same universe as them?

I am sure they know of him (either as an popular Video Game Character or as a celebrity of sorts).
Wether or not the live in the same universe thought, is on pretty shaky ground and demands a lot of fanwanking. The fact that Nintendo games exist within the Ware universe makes things more complicated than they need to be.

Some of 9-Volts games in Touched and Smooth Moves are actually based on earlier microgames in the series so, yeah, Warioware games exist within the Ware universe.
What makes this even stranger is the fact that the Ware cast, including Wario (in an universe were Nintendo/Wario games exist) are making games featuring them, for Warios company and Wario is a very well known Nintendo character(again, in an universe were Nintendo/Wario games already existed).

They most likely do. Mario is practically a celebrity in his homeland & considering how Mario is Wario's rival, and the fact that he alongside the other characters had been in diamond city in the Mario Kart arcade games, I can see the WarioWare characters knowing about Mario to some extent.

Of course they do. Especially 9-Volt who seems to be a big fan of Mario.

Also in the certain Mario games we hear characters say they have played other Mario games. Then we have Cranky Kong who talks about how his games were better than the DKC ones. It seems like these guys know they are live in a video game world to some extent. And they are able to play their past experiences... odd.
