General Wario references thread (Now with Index on page 13).

This microgame from WW: Touched has Wario driving in his car.

Now that things are back to normal I figured that I should finally get my lazy ass into motion and finish the Index, everything has at least one relevant page listed now and the stuff past page 13 has been added, some of it still isn't terribly descriptive (thought in some cases it just seemed unneccessary), but at least it's now worth some sort of damn in terms of navigation.

Gotta say it's a little weird for me that I haven't had anything new to post here, given how active I was in this thread for about a year, bbut that was bound to happen at some point and I'm sure that something new will come up again, eventually.

Until then and for the sake of completionalism I will leave a link to this old thread, which mentions some Rythm Heaven stuff, that hasn't been covered here yet;

To explain this a little bit :

I never bothered to get myself a Classic Controller until two days ago, because my Brawl disc doesn't work anymore on my Wii (it's the dual layer issue, because all my other Wii/GC games work just fine) and I wanted to play it again (just on the Wii U this time around ), partially because of it's version of Wario and playing it again for the first time in about two years, not only proofed to me not only how much better Wario was with the charge (both as a representation of his character and as a figther), but it also brought two things to my attention that I could talk about, so let's do this!

Firstly, one Event Match called ''Wario Bros'' involves Wario facing Mario and Luigi on the Mario Bros stage, which bares more then a passing resemplance to the microgame of the same name from Mega Microgame$ :
http://www.mariowiki.com/Wario_Bros.

Secondly, something about Wario's up tilt.

I had a theory about it's possible origin before, but now I think it looks a lot more like this animation when you unlock the very final level in Land 2 :

It's the way he actually looks up just like in the Smash games that gets me, plus points if you are using the Game Boy pallet swap in battle.

I'm having a hard time believing they dug so deep to include some really obscure Wario Land references but then on the other hand they hardly had any obvious ones.
I mean... referencing a specific part of a special animation that you only see once in one game and only when you get to the secret final chapter.... and then they don't even have a Wario Land song? :SHuh: I mean what the heck? :SWut:

?

I wasn't saying that it is the definet origin of the move, I'm just saying that it just looks like it to me, after all I can't confirm it either way.

Ah, gotcha, althought to be honest I wouldn't count it bein a referenc out quite yet, with them referencing a completely unrelated Twisted artwork in one of Wario's jumping animations and Brawl having put at least SOME effort in representing Wario Land I'd anything is possible, if nothing else thinking of it that way makes the move at least seem more interesting to me then it actually is.

According to someone on Reddit, scanning the Wario amiibo in Kirby Planet Robobot will give you the Wheel ability :
https://m.reddit.com/r/amiibo/comments/4grai4/playing_planet_robobot_heres_a_list_of_what/

The association between Wheel and Wario may very well be a nod to the Wario Bike, especially since the ability practicly acted like a Bike in Kirby Super Star's 2 Player mode, as well as the final stretch and ending of Meta Knight's Revenge.

Something that recently came to my mind, in regards to Wario's crowd chant in the Smash Bros series :

0:23

Now what's the correlation between the Cha-Cha-Cha and Wario? Well, the rhythm of the Cha-Cha-Cha was developed from the Danzón-mambo. Wario De Mambo anyone?

This unused music piece from Wario Land 4 has a musical instrument (an organ or something) that was reused
in Dribble and Spitz's theme song from WarioWare Mega Microgame$

It can be heard during most of the song, especially from 0:41 to 0:44.

The Game Boy Camera had a number of Nintendo themed pictures, that you could print out with the Game Boy Printer, two of them feature Wario :

Another thing that makes these pictures notable is that they are Wario Land artworks, Tiny Wario is from Land 1 and regular Wario is from Land 2 :

As Hex Scout pointed out in another thread you can unlock a Wario sticker in Metroid Prime 3, if you have a Smooth Moves save file on your system:
latest

So, how does that work with multiple games? Cause Hex Scout said something about constantly resetting the game for this sticker.
