Is Mario in a dark age?

And in a fighting game, no less.

It's a me!

Metal Mario!

What is even going on in this thread
Looking back, it probably is Planet Robobot's stickers that spoiled me into this "If Kirby can do that, so can Mario!" way of thinking.

And to summarize again, it's not the main Mario games that are in this "dark age" at all, but the spin-offs and other games are looking that way a little.

The spin offs were already headed that way with Sticker Star. Though Color Splash at least looks polished so far. Sonic Boom is just an unfinished mess.

Nintendo is pushing themselves to the ground, it's only a matter of time until our favorite which, Ashley is on Xbox one and PS4. If their next console isn't powerful and has a gimmick they are more than likely doomed. As a Nintendo fan, I'd hate to see that, what would happen to Ashley?! I must buy the rights to her until she's pulled under by Nintendo. I saved up $4,000 +, just another 2 million dollars...

They need to get Mario out of this dark age right away, or everything will fall.

Also throwing out there that there's never been a single reference to Yoshi's Safari in any other Mario game by far.

Or to put it another way: People recognize the Super Scope, but how many people remember what games used it?

Strange to hear since Mario Safari is the only game I've ever heard of that uses the super scope. Speaking of which we should get a new mario safari, especially since it'd be funny to just shoot Ludwig in the fucking face.

I think Mario is being "overused". Nintendo is there's so many Mario games people don't care anymore. Only fans and younger players will play those games. It feels like Nintendo is running out of ideas for the plumber, now we have Mario Maker, which was supposed to be good, but they forgot that kids play the game, as a result, we have tons of dumb levels, loads of impossible levels (almost), poor level design everywhere... What makes a good Mario game is just that, good level design.

What's next, Nintendo? Mario Kart Maker? Make your own Yoshi on your smartphone? Toad's Factory? Come on...

Is it a problem they don't reference Hudon Soft's Donkey Kong 3 or Super Mario & Frenz: When I Grow up, too

Or to put it another way: People recognize the Super Scope, but how many people remember what games used it?

the super scope and its games flopped hard. i remember seeing a vintage magazine scan where you had trash games like Batman Forever selling for $95 CSDs while the Super Scope games were clearanced for 20 bucks. it's perfectly normal for people to recognize a failed accessory for its appearances in things that are actually relevant and successful.

Yeah seems like people only remember the super scope cause of how shitty it's done, similar situation to the virtual boy as well. You either are famous or infamous when it comes to games and gaming accessories.
