Welp it's real. Okay we knew of it's existence thanks to all the various rumors and this picture released a few weeks back,

but now we have absolute confirmation.
I will admit though, despite how fucking strange the idea is.
I'm......actually.....interested by this game.
It actually looks pretty dann good according to the trailer and i'm genuinely interested in seeing where this goes. I'm still baffled by the premise of it, but it looks interesting so far and i'll be keeping my eye out for this game.


Though I would have much prefer a Mario and Rayman crossover over this, but hey, sometimes you can't get what you want.

I have wanted more games like Captain Toad which do something a little different with Mario for a long time now and this certainly looks different and all things considered not bad at all. Heck, the Rabbids may even end up being more tolerable then usual, at least I'm getting that vibe from the trailer.

So yeah, color me interested.
 
I'm kind of getting a Mario and Luigi feel from that gameplay. The way they're all walking around on that overworld. It all has me cautiously optimistic.

Plus those graphics look really clean and smooth.

It got a 85 score, Damm! that's pretty good for a crossover as strange as this.

Did any of you bothered to get it and if so what did you think?

I was originally mixed on the whole idea, but considering it's getting this many good reviews.
Welp I might have a new Switch game on my buy list.
 
Toadette's in it so that's good err I mean I've played games like this before like Valkyria Chronicles and quite enjoyed it and knowing this game was overall well received does make it seem like a strong consideration. I don't have a Switch but my roommate does so that's the real question to consider.

I wonder if the suprising liberties nintendo gave to ubisoft gave for this game are a good sign for future mario rpgs

I wonder if it may be any of the following:
It's a brand new spin off.
It's a non-Japanese developer.
Nintendo didn't really care all that much for this project.

Nintendo had heavy oversight over Retro Studios, Next Level Games and Silicon Knights, though, as explained in the post-mortem of games like Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon and eternal darkness.
 
Between this and Odyssey I can't help but wonder the folks at Nintendo had a serious change of heart in regards to the many restrictions certain past games in the franchise have suffered. Could just be me seeing connections where there aren't any, but either way these two games are offering the most exciting Mario material that we have seen in a long time and I'm happy that I can say that

Wario and Waluigi Rabbids are bosses, judging from some YouTube thumbnails I've seen.

I've been watching game grumps play this and I'm pretty interested. I think I'm gonna wait and see the first boss battle and world 2 before I decide to buy it tho.
