Re WL4 voice samples - List of potential Zero-G sound packs

In response to the Wario Land 4 voice sample thread, I think it would be great to keep a handy list of all other Zero-G sound packs where more samples may be hidden. The list is quite exhaustive, and I don't expect anyone to buy the soundpacks. But some appear to be available already on YouTube, and if there are other ways to access them without purchasing, then I don't wanna know go do your thing.

:p

All of the following sound packs were released before 2002, and were kindly provided by a Zero-G representative through e-mail. I'll strike out each individual soundtrack as we become sure that nothing interesting appears there.

Woah, that's a lot.
Ok.... if anyone can provide me with a youtube link for any of these I'd be willing to sit through them.
Just make sure beforehand that you actually know if there are vocals in there at all. No need to listen through a CD that only contains drum beats for example.

Hmm, you're right. I've e-mailed them back, asking if they can tell me which of the compilations contain vocals, instead of just beats and sound effects etc. Hopefully the list can be culled a little.

Okay, sorry for the delay in updating this. From the list which was initially posted, the representative I contacted was able to heavily shorten it by removing titles where he's sure that no vocals are used. He has also bolded soundpacks which he believes are worth looking into for our purposes. In the OP, I've linked all titles to their respective page on the Zero-G website. Those titles without links are ones which I couldn't find a page for, for some reason.

There's an account on YouTube who has uploaded numerous complete soundpacks from Zero-G, some of which appear on the OP list. He's uploading very frequently, so hopefully more relevant soundpacks turn up there.

Ok sooo... the "Come on down!" is used in a song that first appeared in 1997 according to this page: https://remywiki.com/AC_bm_1st

So we can narrow at least some of the clips down to ones made in or before 1997.

Any other youtube videos I could sit through?

Intersting, so this dance music game has used one of the voice samples.

I can't find other complete samples on YouTube at the moment, although I'm closely following this guy, as he's frequently uploading content from Zero-G. I requested an upload of "Dance Vocals" and "Rock & Pop Vocals", and he said he'll do his best to get them up.

But searching through the respective CD booklets (Dance Vocals and Rock/Pop vocals), there are no clips named "Come on down", or even "Work it". But I think they're still worth a listen to be sure. I'll update you immediately if the YouTube channel posts either of them.

Well, I found a few interesting things here:

Some posts seem to hint where some sound effects come from. Like:

Sample: Dog
Library: XGLite
Game: Wario Land 4

Sample: Soundtrack
Library: Roland SC-88
Song: Inside the Pyramid
Game: Wario Land 4

Instrument: Nylon Guitar
Library: Roland SC-55
Song: Wildflower Fields
Game: Wario Land 4

I suspect this 'G-Boy' guy is a member here, though he's not been posting updates here.

There's a lot of interesting stuff in that thread: a lot of Mario-related stuff that I'd like to look into as well. But CM30, do you understand what sound library G-Boy is referring to? It appears that the guys in that thread are hearing them off a downloadable program? I keep scrolling further and further back into the thread, but there's a lot of conversation to sift through, and it's not clear to me.

That's the awkward part.

It seems some of these are sound effects included with certain models of keyboards or synthesisers. I suspect they're probably for sale somewhere, but I keep hearing in the context of 'included with a Yamaha keyboard' or what not.

Thanks. As soon as I have the chance, I'll skim over the thread once more, and then see if I can get G-Boy's attention by replying myself.

Ok, I played around with it, here are some SFX and ambient sounds that might have been used in some Wario games, or close.

Wario Land 4 - Old Man
The dog sound from Wario Land 4/WarioWare?
WarioWare Inc. - Space/Orbulon
WarioWare Smooth Moves - Dumpling aroma (in the Young Cricket's cutscene?)
