Waluigi vs Captain

The 3rd Wario Brother

Worlds greatest treasure hunter.

Holy Cornholio this video!
It sure is ripe for discussion, Anyways i don't know whether to put this here or in crossover games but this video has most definitely opened up my mind, Now i don't appreciate Waluigi as much as i used to. I now think Captain Syrup is a better alternative and would take her over Waluigi i do see it as too late, as far as mario tennis, party etc. Waluigi is gonna stay and i'm not at all conflicted with the idea but this does kinda make me feel bummed at a missed opportunity.
Your thoughts?

Honestly this whole Waluigi vs Captain Syrup thing is completely bollocks.

It's like Luigi vs Bowser really, neither one is really better in the grand scheme of things as they are both different characters with different roles that's appropriate for the game they appear in. (Waluigi is Wario's partner in crime and sidekick, and Captain Syrup is Wario's rival/nemesis.) & that's all I have to say about that.

Though admittedly, I do like to see her appear in the Mario games. (Hell I just want to see Wario characters in general really.)

This. They both serve completely different roles. They are both important in their own ways. It's just that some people are frustrated at Nintendo for neglecting Syrup, a great original character, and pushing Waluigi, who many people see as a cheap Wario knockoff.

That said,

Captain Syrup is love
Captain Syrup is life.

and for the record, Waluigi is cool too. I just wish he'd have a legitimate appearance outside of party games.

SHHH let him bring it up again im not done being angery

seriously tho, maaan! really glad you liked the video and found it informative ♥

Can't add much that I haven't said already, just gonna insist that Syrup has shown up three times and not once has she been an actual villian to Wario to warrant comparing her to the Bowser of WL. No provocation in WL, relaliates in WL2, helps and backstabs you in WL:SI!. Her role is pretty fluid with the most consistent thing being they screw eachother a lot for the sake of personal gain. Yet if you wanna say she wouldn't make a good partner to Wario because that wouldn't fit the simplistic formula Nintendo likes to push with all of the games they're doing now, then you have no right to ask for Waluigi's "potential" to be used for more than the filler partner he's meant to be.

people in general taking yoshi and birdo for granted is just proof that there's no thought put into making these partnerships and people accept them anyways, so might as well have been Syrup for the sake of keepin a WL theme with both characters, or adding another villian, or both getting away with being selfish and greedy; any stock reason you like, and let the headcanons about their relationship run wild. The integrity of the roles and relationships in Mario doesn't matter as much as the characters themselves, anyways.

idk man, it doesn't really matter now. Pauline is barely mentioned for the Mario vs DK games, Daisy's kingdom is just adressed in manuals to remind us she's a princess, maybe Syrup addition couldn't have made any change and she would be that wapeach by now, but man.. it does make one wonder what if WL was the focus of Wario instead of being that one half of a team of wacky evil twins.

This video had some good points, but even then I like Waluigi the most, mainly because I grew up with him in the sports games. Waluigi became somewhat of a fan favorite so it all worked out in the end, plus he's one of my favorite Nintendo characters.

Waluigi was created by Camelot... who was making the sports games. He's basically what Dark Pit was to Smash... except Camelog actually nailed the concept of a Luigi counterpart instead of just making Waluigi look something like
