Wario recollection thread

The 3rd Wario Brother

Worlds greatest treasure hunter.

I don't know if that's the right use of the word "recollection" but basically this is the thread of our Wario experiences.

We've talked about how we got into Wario, what we thought of his games but little mention of the different personal experiences we had playing Wario. So that's what this thread is about. You CAN talk about how you first got into the series but i wanna see the other stuff, like how you felt collecting your first treasure. How you first discovered Sherbet Land etc. Hell it could simply be something sorrounding the game.

Any ways i got one, I was playing WL:SML3 on the school bus in first grade and i was struggling with the Boxing Penguin boss. I could get one hit in and the die, Since i only fought the first boss i thought the Brown Sugar Pirate insignia was the sweet spot but his punchy hands where in the the way and he had the spikey hat thing on his head (what is that? a clamshell or something?) and i died a few times, i asked my best bud at the time who was next to me playing Game and Watch gallery how would he fight a penguin. He said they had slippery backs so he would kick them on their back, That gave me the idea to hit his back and the hat came off. After that i profusely thanked him for helping me beat the boss.

My first Wario game was Wario Land 4 and I don't know how or when exactly I came to know about this game, but I remember borrowing it from a friend when I was some 6 years old, and only bought the game for myself much later, but I don't know exactly when this was either. The memory that has stuck with me the most is that I didn't know that you had to avoid the light if you was Bat Wario, so I never made it past Crescent Moon Village on my own. seriously?: Another one is that I used to think that the ¨lyrics¨ in the intro song were taken from a popular song, and tried to figure out what song. Huh?:

Hm... Some things I do remember: I first played Wario Land 3 borrowing it from Haiko (also known as Psaiko or 356). I didn't really want to return it, though, as it was so awesome (other than this game, I only had Super Mario Bros. Deluxe back then, and Lego Racers for GBC was lying behind the piano, which I only found much later).
When it was my birthday, Haiko came up to me after school and said I could keep Wario Land 3. Yay!
Many years later, though, I saw him post on this forum that he had lost his Wario Land 3 cartridge long ago... No, he didn't! He had given it to me! d:p
I also remember getting stuck at the golf game, but my father was able to figure it out.
Shortly after getting Wario Land 4 we went on vacation to my grandparent's house, and I had said to myself that I shouldn't play too much, and wanted to not beat the game before we would leave again. I did, though. d:p But that was honestly not my fault, as the game's quite short when only playing Normal difficulty.
