What happened to the characters' families?

Because apart from 9 Volt and Jimmy T (and Penny Crygor, since her father is a main character in the series), pretty much no one seems to have any relatives.

Mona? No family seen.

Kat and Ana? No family seen.

18 Volt? No family.

Ashley? Her grandmother is mentioned, but her family is never seen or mostly mentioned.

Young Cricket/Master Mantis? No family.

And so on. I know it's common in fiction for story reasons:

Ashley is confirmed to be living alone apart from Red, but she's said to be 15 so maybe she can handle it ahdunno.
And Mona's able to support herself with work, so ahdunno there.
I assume Young Cricket could be taken care of by Master Mantis.
It's all speculation and I doubt Nintendo cares enough to introduce them so it probably will stay as speculation.

Probably because he thinks he sounds like a stalker/lecher just for knowing a lot about Ashley. It's fine marn, we all know a lot about our favorite video game girls.

As for everyone else, it's mostly the invisible parents trope. We don't need to mention every character's family the entire time etc.

If you're on an internet forum, there's a pretty big chance you're already seen as a 'nerd' by some people. Don't worry about it.

The only people who care about such labels are idiots that seem to think senior/high school never ended or those that try and enforce some hyper 'normal' opinion on everyone else.
