Your favorite "little things" in the Wario Land series

I wonder if they were going for anything similar in the All Stars version of SMB2.

Is that image supposed to animate? Because I don't see anything interesting there.
I couldn't find any, sadly.

oh, and also in this image:
The trees and flowers in the first few areas lf The Big Board are obviously Lego Pieces.
I had those trees in my Lego sets, and the flowers were little "bushes" where you can attach the actual flowers.
Speaking of Legos, you can actually stack a k'nex Wario on any lego piece #lifehacks.

That's because Wario's sprite is made up of several different parts. His arms, body and head are all seperate layers that can be animated independently so when his body and arms are doing his walk animation his head can just keep moving the eyes.
This also ties into the 3D effect of the Virtual Boy. Most of the game's sprites are made up of several layers to get the 3D effect. Even some of the smaller ones, like the little block robot before each boss fight, which has a surprising amount of individual layers.
That's great to know, yet I don't understand why it's a reason to dislike my post. =P

In WL:SML3 as Wario walks he bobs his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm then his left arm then his right arm.

In the WL games where you can die (IE not 2 & 3) theirs always an enemy that can't hurt you in the beginning just in case its your first WL and you don't know the differences between it and an SMB game. That's a bit of design i haven't heard too much of outside WL:SML3

I really like how Fiery Cavern in Land 4, not only replaces all the Iwaos with Yetis when you hit the Frog Switch and start the countdown, but also has one to the right of the switch and actually shows him transform (4:20 ) :

That's actually some good game design on Nintendo's part to be honest. Shows that the Iwaos changed to Yetis for any player who hit the switch, since otherwise they may be confused that the enemies changed in the other rooms. It's a nice small example of Nintendo's 'show don't tell' philosophy for game design.
