That one person
So, here I'll post my own fanart. Feel free to discuss about whatever I should draw or say what you think of my artwork. I'll post updates on what I'm drawing and how far it's going.

So here's my first fanart in a real long time, this was done using PaintNET and nothing else, really. lol. I know, I do a lot of body swap stuff, but mostly because it's funny and awesome! My next one is almost done, it should be done by tonight. Have any questions? Feel free to leave a comment!

Here's my 2nd drawing of Ashley, or should I say...FIRE ASHLEY! Umm, yeah. Took me almost the whole day to make, I started around 3AM and finished 10:25AM. Would have been done sooner but I had to help around the house among other things. So what do you guys think? Not bad, huh? Had the idea for it after I finished my last drawing.

I actually really like the fire one, I like her white outfit, it looks really good on her. I also like her with her hair down : p

You can draw really well. the second one is especially good, I wish I could draw like that : p

Haha, thank you so much. The fire one was an idea I had when I looked at my Fire Mario plush, so this happened. I do my best, I use PaintNET which helps a lot with my shaky hands, if it weren't for it I could never draw, lol.

Yeah, I thought about doing something with her hair, since fire peach and Rosalina both had ponytails, I thought of giving her just one pigtail but it looked weird so I settled for her hair being down.

teach meh 2 draw gud ky-owned

i like the abstract backgrounds, especially the one in the body swap artwork. its vague yet detailed. oh, and ashley has her own unique style now.

Yeah, I thought it kinda looked vague, but it's good. The body swap one took the longest due to there being two characters (Ashley and Red.) I'm trying to get better at shading too, so my work will really stand out. I think I might do Paper Ashley next or something.

Do note that when it comes down to it, the quality of a drawing depends on the skill of the artist rather than the tools. You can use tools as unsophisticated as ball point pens and notebook paper and come out with something impressive.

Too right. Ball points and notepads were actually all I had in the 90's.

People do have their preferred tools, though. Something their more used to using, or a technique that they have know better.

just wanted to throw that out there : p

Of course though what I'm saying is that getting "better" software or tools or whatever won't magically make your art better.

You betcha. I'm not doubting Kyon's talent at all. In fact I see this sort of thing all the time.... Young, budding artists putting themselves down because they don't think their work has worth or potential. Hell, my best friend back in high school did it. Makes me sad, as greatness has to start somewhere. Work it, man! Master that craft! :)
I have a bit of a different stance on this. I think everyone has potential and while some encouragement is good it's up to each person to reach their own potential. And you must also not forget that artist are usually their own worst critic so it's normal for artists to put themselves down. Sometimes it can be a bit too much but it's usually better than having too much confidence in one's own skills since that leads to complacency.

Well I will admit that MS paint has very limited drawing capabilities but even then I've seen some pretty impressive stuff done with it.

Yes, but you are forgetting one thing, I can never draw anything impressive on MS paint, due to shaky hands mostly, PaintNET software helps me, kind of make my lines perfect (not that perfect, not like what other software would do.) so my drawings don't come out all, like as if a kid drew them. Trust me, sometimes better software can make things easier.
