Foreman Spike

I don't think it's been mentioned here before, but Mario's brown/white alternate colors in Smash 64-Brawl are an homage to Spike:

Spike is mentioned under his japanese name ブラッキー as reference, showing that it was indeed intentional.
Yeah and Camelot also pays tribute to him in Mario tennis.

(Just a reminder...)
But going back to the Mario & Wario with the Foreman's attire this is how it evolved:

Sadly, this looks more like a reference to his GameBoy palette.

And Wario's alts got cut off from the 4 smash installnemt.
But then we got this:

Even it has its own icon:

Super Smash is not my favorite, but I appreciate this, from what I understand is:
"Happy 30th annyversary Spike!"

Yeahhhh, that's what I was thinking, she is cute and all and I know japan. But maybe there's a culture in the U.S that loves a purple bearded man with tennis looking pants.

Yeah, at this point it probably is a reference to his Game Boy palette. But screw it, it was officially stated to be a reference to Spike initially, and the same costume still exists. I'll take it. Also, I forgot about that Mario Tennis reference. Heh, I guess Waluigi's connections even go all the way back to his inception.

Would anyone mind if I used the Foreman Spike artwork from the guide on Mariowiki? Credit would be given to Warelander.
