Least interesting character?

If you ask me, it's…Orbulon.

Funky design aside, many of his stories and overall "outer space/alien" theme come off as downright generic.

9-Volt. Like Orbulon, the design is funky, but I just never really paid attention to 9-Volt. Nothing ever really stood out to me.

but I'm pretty sure Touched! is the only game I've ever played with 9-Volt in it.

Yeah, Orbulon never did anything for me. He's OKAY.....just nothing special.
Especially after he lost his old gimmick of having extra long games in favor of the games just being of varying length.

Young Cricket is disappointing i mean theres so many nice ladies in the wurr and when we finally get a pretty boy hes boring as fuck WHY >:CCC

New characters after Touched! feel like a bit of a mess to be honest, I mean beforehand the main idea was that they were the game developers for Warios company? now theyre kinda just... there.

Well, the side characters who only appeared once I guess. Jimmy T's family, Wario's pirate form, etc...

Seriously though, Young Cricket and Master Mantis are kind of boring. Seems like the games never do anything interesting with them, and their stories are almost always the same thing.

Lol, poor Cricket.

My personal vote would go to Ashley, I still like her, but I don't see anything particulary special in her compared to the rest of the cast.
what i dont get about her is why would a gothic lolita you can find pretty much everywhere else be so popular when you have a damn unique cast next to her :c i mean i like her as well but Wario Ware offers some pretty damn cool people by comparison

Because people like tropes they're familiar with. That's why characters like Rosalina (the calm, motherly archetype that's not uncommon in Japanese media) are popular as opposed to hyperactive genki girls like Daisy or even (presumably) bland air-headed women like Peach (who still has greater appeal than Daisy, so eh)

I don't think the Mario series characters really fall in line with the typical anime archetypes. What I can say about various fandoms(Japanese mainly but Western ones too) is that cute little girls tend to get a lot of attention.

Yeah, I believe that this is the problem that some people have been having. And was basically my whole point all along.

I can only imagine the webcomics that portray her telling the rest of the cast, "Yeah, nobody knows who all you losers are anymore." Though I was told by Behonkiss once that the latest WarioWare Tooned episode (he still doing these?) has a scene with Wario going through fanmail, only to find that all of it is for Ashley.

Again, bottom line: Ashley herself isn't the problem. WarioWare becoming "Ashley & Friends: Featuring Wario" is.

For the record, the Mario series is barely anime.

Mario is pretty much not anime at all, on purpose. The series is deliberately designed not to be overly Japanese or overly region specific in general (maybe to make it easier for the localisation team).

But I still don't see this Ashley fandom thing as an issue. Not seen one fan of Ashley who isn't also a Wario fan in general, and one look at the member list on these forums should tell you that.

I think Penny is the most boring. Her character just boils down to "nerd" and "girl", and her design isn't anything special. I do remember liking the banter she has with Wario in DIY though, it's interesting to see Wario actually interact with his Warioware coworkers.
