My Wario Land pixel art

Yeah, being able to kill enemies by just bumping them around is definitely... forgiving, to say the least.
At least that's a way to defeat enemies when you're small. Otherwise you'd be screwed.

When you stun an enemy normally they don't bounce off, they just sorta... slide away.
And when you bump into them but don't stun them they awkwardly slide with stars above their heads but with the same sprite.
It all kinda feels... flimsy.
In contrast, Wario Land 2's enemy ..."physics" were pretty amazing, considering they were als made on the same black and white gameboy. (Too bad Shake it!'s weren't)

That's one of the reasons why I don't like the game as much as the ones that came after it. It's missing that one degree of additional polish in terms of gameplay mechanics.

I liked those quirks, but I know what you mean about the lack of polish and being too forgiving.
Even small Wario can still grab/knock out any sized enemy, or kill pretty much everything using a 10-Gold Coin! It's ludicrous just how overpowered Wario was, but I reckon that was to emphasise the fact he was a big bad villain in the previous game. They wanted you to feel like you're playing as a boss character.

By contrast, Shake Dimension made Wario feel really flimsy and weak when getting in your enemies' faces. Especially the way he carries and throws baddies/objects.

Yeah, you couldn't even jump off of an enemy's head more than once. And bumping into them bounced you off just as much as it did them. That would've been fine for the big enemies but no, even the smallest guys feel heavy and slow.
It's such a shame that a game as beautifully drawn and animated as Shake it! has so many gameplay annoyances.
Even simple things like being able to duck-slide or ground-pounding while moving left or right in the air are gone, making it feel stiffer than previous games.
But I digress. I've been over this plenty of times.

I LOVE IT

...so much, in fact, that I may consider putting it in my fangame, Wario Cruise, as a bonus boss. With your permission and full credit, of course.
Uh, sure, why not? ^^
I wanted to put him in my own fangame... (the one I was working on with Weario) ...which sadly is still on hold... (haven't heard from @Weario in a while...)

But sure, if you want, you can use him. If you need any other sprites, (like a getting hit sprite or something) then I could maybe make you those, too.

Hooooo boy.. o_O This is gonna hurt.. but I have no plans to continue with this. University and real life take the majority of my life nowadays. The ONLY chance I might continue with this is when I graduate and have a job and a less hectic live, which would be at least two years. And then again I would rewrite the engine all over again because my programming skills are improving as I study. You can't see it on the demo, but the code's got a lot of tangles, which is the main reason I hated programming bosses, I didn't design my code properly to allow easy development for unique enemies.

I'm sorry to say this, but I feel the need to tell you that you shouldn't get your hopes up. I only have time to do little things like those little hacks I post on my YouTube channel. If I was in high school, I'd have the time of the world for this, but c'est la vie.. I won't blame you if you're dissapointed in me for leaving you in the dark with this.

I mean... even if it DOES take a couple of years... if you'd still be willing to do it then, I guarantee you, I'd be willing as well. Making a game like this would be a dream come true. And even if it takes like... five years or so, I'd still love to come back to it.

Sure! Thanks! :shantdance6: that'd be great! Wow I have to use him now. He actually fits in the game rather well too, as Syrup utilizes a number of mechanized minions....including this Mecha-Wart that she pilots:

Who knows what the future will bring. I'll forever be a Wario Land fan, but the fangame area is a low priority for the time being.

Anyway, here's his channel, as I'm sure it'll take awhile for him to reply: https://www.youtube.com/user/Wario395
I can't believe that's still my custom YouTube URL Imscared: And it seems I can't even change it anymore. That old username of mine is so cringy. xD

I'm surprised you don't know his channel! He's quite popular and if you search Weario, it's the first channel that pops up!

What do you mean by 'quite popular'? He's got less subscribers than me. d:p

That's not your custom URL, that's your default url. Custom urls are of the form youtube.com/c/[something], and youtube.com/[something] works also. And if you haven't set your custom URL yet, you can do so on the https://www.youtube.com/features page.
