It seems that they're going make it exclusively on Japan Virtual Console:

I hope they also file Teleroboxer.

Probably because it sold well only in Japan, but Wario Land Shake it was firstly released in Europe, if I bad remember.
Sales on Virtual Boy is kind of a moot point.
Of course it's not gonna sell if it's on Virtual Boy.
But if people can play it on a proper console, on a proper screen, in black and white, with comfortable, optional 3D, then it's gonna be a different story.

JS is right, if they brought back Starfox 2 for SNES Mini, then Wario Land VB would be right at home in the 3DS, all they gotta do is, like many mention, use the 3D classics tag on it (even if its practically been unused for a while) and colorize the sprites if they want to go to the easy route, or remaster the game entirely!
I'm so hyped! :D

*Cries*Fanbases especially desperate ones always eat this sort of stuff up but it rarely ever means much

This happens in more than just fanbases--it is a very human trait to want to have hope, something to believe in. Even if it's unlikely, a shred of hope can go a long way

Yeah I know though trademarking in particular is something that gets thrown around a lot as a sort of grasping at straws sort of thing online.

Ooooh, well that stuff is a bit silly, yeah. Sometimes companies just trademark shit for seemingly no reason and never do anything with it.

But you're right, that's certainly what it is--people grasping at whatever they can get.

I do

I mean I do want to believe just as much as anyone else here does but I don't like getting my hopes up. A lot of companies trademark things just to be safe and as we know Nintendo is very protective of their IPs even if their handling can be clumsy so we just can't get too ahead of ourselves. Well, that's just me anyway.

Indeed. Basically, it's really neat to think about, but we must manage our expectations with this.

Retrademarking is basically for the usage of games even after their licenses are supposed to expire, Star Fox 2 was also relicensed just for it, oh wait, it actually was never licensed, more accurately it was only licensed for now so it can be on the SNES Mini, why would nintendo re trademark VB WL if they won't use it? I actually doubt the rumors of a VB Mini are true, because some are mentioning this, because the other VB games haven't been trademarked like WL, so I'm guessing 3DS users, repeating myself and others here, will be getting a colored version of the game with 3D support, and a small chance of console users getting the game as well but only in 2D.
