Re WL4 voice samples - List of potential Zero-G sound packs

It's been a long time, but I've found the sources of a few new samples.

Sample: Shanai
Number: 112
Source: Roland Sound Canvas SC-88
Date: 1994
Song: Arabian Night

Sample: Male - Nathan Prime - Wo Yeah-C#
Source: Zero-G Vocal XTC
Date: 1997
Song: Opening

Oh wow, nice find! You should post a video showing what the samples sound like. Maybe even compared to the original usage in game!

I also found the Oh So Beautiful-D and the Precious Beautiful-D samples in the game's sound banks. They were also sung by Nathan Prime, but I didn't write them because they weren't used in the opening theme, even if they were in the game's files.

Wow.... that "Woo yea-eah~" sounds a lot more... female in the game. I always just assumed it was the same singer who sung the main chorus.

G-Boy, I would like the raw sample of that synth bass 1.
In my Wario Land 4 remastered music, I replicated that because I could not find that myself, like here:

I'd be very gratefull if you could provide me with that sample, so that I can improve this further, you'll be credited for that ofcourse. :)

Do you want the raw sample from the game or the sample from the Roland Sound Canvas SC-88?

I'm sorry, but if that's true, that's unfortunately not possible. I don't have the Bliss sampler, so I can't get raw samples from VSTs.
I see. I'm rather purist with these kind of things, but I'll take the sample from the comparrison folder, strip the part of the Sound Canvas Pack and judge the quality of that. :) Thanks still!

I went ahead and replaced the synth bass instrument with your sample, this is the result:

It's definitly closer to the original, but your sample sounds a bit flat. It's missing some 'oomph' if you get what I mean. It might be because the volume of your sample was quite low. I had to normalize (to 0db) so it has the same volume as all the other instruments.
EDIT: If you listen closely to your comparison sample again, it might be more clear what I mean. :)

I didn't change the volume of my comparison sample, so I don't know what you mean. I just recorded it in FL Studio and lowered the volume of the sample from the game so it wouldn't be too much louder than the sample from the SC-88. The purpose of the comparisons is to show the similarity between the samples, not to sample them, so I think the most accurate way of remastering the music would be to download the demo of the Sound Canvas VA and play the ripped MIDI from the game with it.

Aha, so you got that sound using FL. I can toy with that too. I'll try to get that sc-88 in there too and see if I can make it better that way. Once I have more time that is.

This organ sample was also used. It's likely to originate from the Roland D-50, but I don't have one, so I can't confirm that.
