Funny thing is, I would fuckin love this
I was watching some Wario's Woods material and I can totally see where the Shantae creators got their inspiration for Hypno Baron from.

When I came across this image it was actually quite a surprise to me because until now I always thought that the first Shantae game didn't had any advertisements.

It sure did, this ad right here, which circulated in Nintendo Power for a time, is solely responsible for me becoming interested in this series.
I've actually got it framed on the wall these days
And there's one thing more worth mentioning:
Wayforward released another GBC game two years prior to Shantae. It is titled Xtreme Sports and it was of major influence on Shantae's first game.
You can see that it has a style that is very similar to the artworks related to Shantae. (Especially if look at the character's eyes.)
The game even has sprites that were later re-used in Shantae, such as Shantae's character sprites which are basically just edited Xtreme Sports sprites and the palm trees in Scuttle Town.
This also explains that weird blue speck on Shantae's left cheek, something that kept me wondering for ages.

Nice. I had only heard of this, never took the time to check it out or really go into any research on it beyond noting its existence.

Hell yeah it does! I'm already seeing stuff I hadn't anticipated from Risky's mode, so I've got a feeling it's gonna be pretty great....though, to be honest, I didn't have much doubt of that, haha.
Think the final boss will be Shantae? I kinda hope not...I don't wanna hurt Shant..
Whatever it ends up being, it will be super creative I'm sure. Wonder when we'll get info about the Bolo, Sky, and Rotty modes? It just tickles the hell outta me to know that this game is expanding, and getting bigger and better. There are 3 more characters planned after this!
I've already beat it 20+ times, and it seems there are many more to come.

I could care less about Shovel Knight (nothing against him or his game, I'm just not super attached to it), but of course Wario and Shantae are the two greatest characters of all time, hell yeah
Oh, and I encourage everyone to buy the Nintendo Switch version of Half-Genie Hero, not just to support the series, but for this too:

I think it's gonna be the pre-final boss battle from Hero mode but from Risky's POV. I have seen this in other games too.
Hey, this looks funny. But honestly though, I think playing like this would kinda hurt my eyes, so I probably won't do it.
Welp, looks like the Switch version may be the definitive version of the game, similiar to the physical 3DS version of Pirate's Curse.

The jokes where hit or mis but there was enough there for me to enjoy, Damn these two should do a cross over. I'd love to see Wario fail at belly dancing to get money.
I'm writing a Shantae-Wario crossover fanfic, but I have a writer's block often so it will take a while before it will be finished.
A Wario-Shantae (reluctant) team up game featuring hilarious situations like that has long been the dream game of myself and others.
Who knows, if Mario can team up with Rabbids than maybe these two can cross paths for a crazy adventure (that people actually want)
