Star Fox Zero (or star fox in general maybe idk)

Eh, we'll agree to disagree. I feel like TTYD's finale had enough levity, what with Bowser arriving with his quips and one-liners before the final battle, and Super Paper Mario had plenty of jokes throughout, but I totally understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea!

It's still worlds different than being perpetually dour and humorless from beginning to end.

s'yeah, what are y'all thoughts on this game?

It looks boring to be honest, I'm not a huge star fox fan. I've only played Assault and adventures, both were fairly fun. Had great times with SF Assault, mostly due to the multiplayer. My sister and I would play for like, two hours on some days having fun with the airwing and landmasters.

Aside from that, if this game has fun Multiplayer and possibly online I'll give it a shot. I don't really get games that are only one player (Mario RPG's and main titles such as Galaxy are an exception.) I never played Star Fox on the 64 or even the remake. All that comes to mind is flying in a jet and shooting everything, also the chicken looking airwing. If I had any thoughts about it, It doesn't wow me at all, when It came up in last years E3 I was just begging for the trailer to end and get on with the "better" games.

New trailer!

The recycling of SF64 quotes is getting seriously tired, but I like the concept of having alternate paths for the arwing and chicken walker.

At least the voice acting is better than in Star Fox 64 3D. It didn't really bother me but it seemed cheesy in a more forceful way than in the N64 version which was more charming.

Oh wow, the outer space dog fight ship battle thing looked really cool, Id really like to try that game : p

The quote at the end was pretty lame, though : p

So...are there still people who are pissed off about Krystal not being in this?

Yeah, Nintendo should really stop with the barrel roll by now.
Yeah, that's pretty much all they want the series to be. But still, be glad we didn't get "Peppy's Adventures in Barrel Rolling" instead of this.

Take a look at the comments on the "Rock and Roll" trailer...

Star Fox Guard and recent footage like the above corneria boss and the Fortuna level look promising. I don't know if marketing will be able to reverse all the cynicism surrounding the game, but I haven't been genuinely this excited about a game sequel for a long time.

Aw, no Krystal? Is there at least a reason for her to not be in the game, or did they just drop her?
I hated Star Fox Adventures : p But I liked Krystal. I saw that she was in SF Assault (Havent had the chance to play it yet though).

I only watched the first level of the video. The cockpit view is kinda lame : p That bites. But the level looked alot like the first level of the N64 SA game. Its not a remake, is it?

Zero is a brand new game set in an alternate continuity. The idea is that the post SF64 installments were divisive at best and didn't sell well (and Command made a goddamn mess of things, anyway), so they're deliberating returning to the style of SF64 in both plot/characters and gameplay. The best way I've seen framed it that it's like how Star Wars Force Awakens deliberatly leaned hard on the original trilogy to wash off the taste of the poorly-received Star Wars prequels.

The director on the Platinum Games side is open to including Krystal in a sequel, though. I don't really care about her, but Panther was a cool character. I hope he comes back.
