So this is a thing now.
Pretty unexpected, but hey,
It's nice to see Nintendo going all out on the marketing side

We need a Direct dedicated to Odyssey alone.
Considering we got a Splatoon 2 and a ARMS Direct, a Nintendo direct dedicated to Super Mario Odyssey certainly wouldn't be surprising to see.

But then again, i'm not sure if Odyssey really warrants an entire 30 minute direct to itself as
we already know a bit about how the basic game works and plays thanks to it's extensive showing at E3 and Gamescom. (We even know the general synopsis and minor things like Multiplayer for example.)
And stuff like Amiibo compatibility and more minor reveals can be saved for a general Nintendo Direct instead.

But who knows exactly?.....
Nintendo can be unpredictable sometimes.

Heheh you guys always assume you know a lot about something. This game could have a ton more secrets up it's sleeves... hat.

I hope there's at least one big secret that'll blow everyone's mind that ISN'T spoiled before the game comes out.

There's always the dilemma that you wanna keep as much secret so the player can discover stuff themselves but you also have to show how great your game is so people buy it. It's unfortunate but true. You'll never be able to play a game like this 100% blind.

Yep. Remember Zelda Breath of the Wild?

We all thought we knew so much about it based on the initial E3 demo on the Great Plateau. Then we thought we knew so much about it based on the trailers afterwards.

Nope, there were tons of things we didn't know. Like most shrines, most of the world, all sidequests, almost all NPCs, the dungeon bosses, the dungeons themselves, how Hyrule Castle worked, what armour there was and some of the enemies you encountered (like Lynels).

Same's true of Odyssey. We didn't even know the capture mechanic existed at first...

Have we shared this here yet?
It's really cool.

Whoa that's some pretty sweet art, Is it just me though or am I getting Yoshi's Island vibes just from the rough looking lines? (Probably just me.)
well anyways,
Hope we get 2D Artwork for most of the levels in some way
I would definitely love to see New Donk City and especially the wooded kingdom in this style.

I've always wanted to see an HD remake of Yoshi's Island where everything looks like the official artworks:

Imagine the entire game looking like this!
With beautiful 2D animations! :SDrool:
HELL YEAH!!!!!! a HD Yoshi's Island with handdrawn graphics ala the Box art would make me insanely hyped to the moon and back again.
Especially if it has a soundtrack like this to go alongside it.

Seriously I will be a very happy man if I get a remake or a new game with the same love and soul Yoshi's Island had.

Seriously just the mere thought of that makes my mouth water

Here's the Nintendo Direct spotlight for those who missed yesterday's direct.
Generally it expands upon existing information we already knew in the past
As well as reveal new things that we didn't know before.

Also

If any of you are planning on getting this, then good luck
Because you're gonna have a very very hard time.
