I wanted to ask, is Ashley really this controversial of a character? I mean are people really tearing each other up over her? Like even here on this forum, Ive only seen two people who really made a fuss over her to an extreme extent (one pro and one anti) and other than that, most people just treat her like any other character. Might be a favorite, might like her alright, and maybe even a few who dont think she really needs to be there.

Anywho, I like her : p Shes a cute character, and interesting and funny. I even have a picture of her CMV drew me of her on my wall : p
Shes not my favorite character, and I dont feel I relate to her too much. But other than that I think shes neat : p
 
Do people think that if Ashley didn't get attention at all the other cast would? I can't answer this, but if I had to guess --- no, or not to some great extent. Hating Ashley because she's getting attention is in my opinion --- dumb (not to offend anyone). I mean, at least a character from Warioware is getting attention, right? I guess that's just how I view it though.

Yeah, she's different from other Warioware characters, something Nintendo doesn't usually do. I can't speak for all Ashley fans, but I'm sure they like her because of her design and personality, though that's just what I think (based on what I think of the character). Nintendo has been putting her in a lot of things lately, which in turn brings in more fans, and what happens when there are more fans? a higher demand for said character. Nintendo see's money, so they listen.


(This is also the first time I heard of this "Snowball effect" which seems fit to describe Ashley's situation.)
 
Also this poll is not fair, I either have to like her a huge amount or completely hate her. Does not represent me at all : p

Ashley is a nice character, and I think the same way for most of the WarioWare crew. She is a fun character with a fun concept, a scary girl that lives next door? It's just fun!
Yes, she can be a bit too different from the rest, but before that, Orbulon was kinda out of the picture, like ousiders, they don't really fit in, but that is also part of the fun, as to see a team of developers that have nothing in commun together to make a game.
I don't see Ashley as a special character in any way, I just like her and her design, but I can also say the same for Jimmy, Mona, 9-Volt, etc...

EDIT: I wanted to make this sound funny, I was joking about being a test subject too! :p

Yes, that's the thing, pretty much all of them are special and unique, Ashley included, and of course, Mona too!
I just don't care about Young Cricket and Penny that much, coincidentally both started in WarioWare Smooth Moves...
But I don't hate them, they have their own fun factor too!
That is why I like the WarioWare series, as those characters fit the crazy mood of the game and are quite fun to see react in the cutscenes.

Btw, Mona is the record holder for longest cutscenes in most the games! xD
 
Im not gonna lie, I actually dont know anything about Penny, I havent watched any of her cut scenes on youtube yet. But I like her, merely based on her design : p Haha I think shes a cute character, aesthetically : p
And I didnt know that about Mona, haha neat.

Funny. These are actually my favourite characters. (Right after Wario)
The dialogue in D.I.Y. was funny and helped teaching the basics of creating Micro Games. She seems like a cute Nerd who constantly messes with other people on accident. Come to think of it... I think Penny might have the most dialogue inside the Wario Games next to Wario. (Despite being in only 3 games.)
I have to admit tho that i didn't like her in Smooth Moves at first because it way WAY to girly.

As for Young Cricket and Master Mantis: I like the premise of Martial Arts Fighters, especially Kung-fu. And the fact that they constantly think about eating is a funny little detail. Also: Let's be honest. Young Cricket is pretty much the only attractive Male in the Crew.
(With Exception of Wario but no one can match his godly good looks.);)

real talk: Ashley isn't divisive to like 99% of the people who play the WarioWare series and the only reason it seems like such a sore point here are people developing a dislike for the character/hamming up their indifference/dislike in response to kyon.

or in other words: if kyon didn't post here, this thread wouldn't exist

It might sound mean but you might have a point.
 
it depends how you look at it. in my opinion, theres a few who arent giving kyon much of a chance to redeem himself; you just keep bashing him with out a second thought.

and if you disagree, feel free to give me A VALID REASON WHY INSTEAD OF JUST GETTING PISSED AT ME BECAUSE I DONT HATE KYON. i didnt go out of my way to knock you down a few pegs, so please dont do that to me.
 
I think we should just let go of the past with that, I mean I only brought it up because its literally the only time Ive seen any problem with the character, so I used it as more of an example for a point I was trying to make : p

Anywho, yeah thats in the past and we can all move on and forget it yeah : p Everyone makes mistakes.
