The scoring system in Twisted

Some random guy online
I haven't seen anyone bring this up before, but has anyone else noticed that the scoring system in Twisted differs from the rest of the series?

The big difference that I'm talking about is that in every other game, when you lose a microgame, the score counter still goes up, as if you won the game, as seen here (3:19) :

This does not apply in Twisted, if you lose the microgame then the score stays how it is, only increasing if you win any given microgame, as seen here (2:04) :

So yeah, has anyone else ever noticed this?

Yes I noticed that, I kinda like the way Twisted does it, I wonder what the others prefer, though. If I had to choose one, I'd go for the traditional scoring, basically counting each game instead.

I'm not sure which one I prefer, the traditional system pretty much rates your endurance, since the extra lives gained from boss games are also extra points by proxy, while Twisted only rates how many microgames you beat as opposed to how long you can last.

It's two surprisingly different ways to score your performance, despite how miniscule the change might sound on paper.

Yes it's hard to decide. It would be nice to see a WarioWare game with both modes available! One you'd be able to toggle between based on the type of challenge you prefer.

That would be a great feature for a future game, especially if it comes with seperate Online Leaderboards for both modes, that's something I absolutely want from a new WarioWare.

Oh wow, I never actually noticed that when playing Twisted.
While I personally prefer the traditional score system over Twisted's as it gives me that pure arcade like feeling,
Twisted's method is very interesting and I would like to see it again as a seperate mode of sorts as it offers a different kind of challenge as opposed to the arcade esque challenge of the traditional system despite how small it sounds at first glance. (How many can you win as opposed to how far can you go.)

Reminds me of something I suggested before in this thread.
I don't see why perhaps we can't have both game styles. Perhaps like an inversion of Orbulon having longer microgames like have a certain character or set or something have those sorts of BPM games.
Having these options would sound like a potentially interesting compilation maybe...though then I'm reminded of what Glowsquid said of the individual games not really being the selling point so I dunno

I've noticed it before and i personally prefer Twisted's approach however i think it makes more sense that the rest of the series went the inc. approach since after you beat the boss and unlock the next level it just becomes an endurance test and in a way that's kind of what WarioWare is so the endurance style point system seems rather fitting. But at the same time then its sounds like an arcade game in which you have to get points and go on as long as possible in but then you should only get points for wins since that's how it traditionally works in those games (though WW isn't exactly traditional i know).

I'm fine with either one really, i don't take my score very seriously in WarioWare since i'm not a super avid player of that series.
