Unpopular Video Game Opinions

Despite hearing lukewarm things about them, part of me really wants to try out the WiiWare Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games.

Zelda 2 wasn't the best Zelda game but i'd like to see another attempt at the Zelda 2 style, It would be cool to see it done right. Its not my idea of Zelda it would be cool to see, Especially since they tried Zelda 1 with Breath of the Wild and it works great.

I thought about this a while now. And after some thought, I gotta agree with a friend of mine on this one; there is very little to entice me to snag a Switch, even if they weren't so darn hard to find.

A lot of the games out now are ports. Some of then enhanced ports, but ports regardless. And I already own the consoles the original versions were made for.

Yes, I hear the version of Breath of the Wild runs a bit better than the Wii U version, at least after it's patched. I'm not a Zelda fan, but something tells me even if I was, I hear the Wii U version still runs pretty well, so the improvements aren't worth buying a whole other console over.

I do hear it has the definitive version of Mario Kart 8, which I never bought on the Wii U. But I need more than that to snag it.

And yes, there is Puyo Puyo Tetris. But I own a PS4, and it was released for that as well. And the game is great! But once again, why buy a Switch for the game when I can already play it something I own right now?

Figure it's better to wait until at least the holiday season to see if there's more out by then. But for now at least, I see very little reason to go out and buy a Switch. The situation can change, true. It has done so before in past generations, after all. But it's better to wait until a particular game I want to see on the system, that I can't get anywhere else, gets a release.

The Wind Waker was one of my least favorite Zelda games. HD or original.

Despite having an upgraded sailing mechanic, in HD, I still find the sailing to be incredibly boring. I've heard it been compared to the fields in Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, but when sailing once get the direction of the wind and such all ready, you kind of just sit there until you reach your destination. (That is unless, you run into a big octo.) Whereas in OoT and TTP, once you get Epona you still adjust speed and use a more diverse item set.

I also found the temples forgettable and bland, the mechanic of switching bodies with your companions was alright, but the rest was not all that fun.

Other than that and a few other small complaints, the game was Ok. The final boss was pretty cool, the overall story was alright and the art style was a thumbs up.

Rumors of Nintendo creating a Switch 2.0 is the icing of the cake to me.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I can't stand playtroughs with commentary. Sometimes it's funny but 99% of the time it just annoys the heck out of me.
One time I was watching a Shovel Knight playtrough for some hints and I got so distracted by the player's thick Scottish accent that I had to rewatch a large piece. Even worse is when you begin to associate the voice with the characters...

Agreed, I don't really care much for let's players/streamers myself. The only one that I regularly watch is Vinesauce.

I really enjoy them, actually! d:)
I usually enjoy watching them more than doing them myself, but I've been improving on the latter and it's getting more fun.

The ones that strike a balance between making jokes/commentary and staying quiet so people can appreciate the game are fine imo. I regularly watch Vinny, Jerma, S2LSoftener, and ster_.

I've mentioned this before as something I'd like to see. Not a remake of Zelda 2, but rather an all new adventure in the style of Zelda 2. Make it a handheld spinoff or something, I don't care. I just think it could be cool.

I enjoy the Mario spinoffs more than the Mario platformers, I mean look at this:

An unexpected Mario/Final Fantasy crossover.

10x times more spectuacular than all of the NSMB endings

More creative than Super Mario 3d World.

I like the poison 1 up in Mario 2, People seem to flame this game for the poison one up. Its dumb, wind and koopa bounce sections are what make the game hard.

On that note, while it is the worst classic Mario. The Lost Levels isn't bad. Level design is kinda poo poo but when they said you need to master Mario 1, They mean't that literally, Know the MECHANICS in and out, momentum especially, The design surely isn't Mario but put yourself in the perspective of a japanesse person at the time, It all made sense, Then Mario 3 came and it became pointless.

Another one, I vaguely remember mentioning this before somewhere but the Famicom soundchip blows the NES out the water.

Infact ever since a long time ago or something i much rather touch english famicom patches because i really don't think the NES compares aside from having 16 pins in the cartdrige to the Famicom's 8 but it was hardly used and then the Disc System took over with saves, save files, better music IMO, etc.
