[Upcoming Game] Interesting phone calls in WarioWare Gold

Broski3215

Legendary Thief
There are three in-game phones unlockable in the Toy Room and they can be used to dial up codes which are also unlockable.

While many of the calls are just plain random, some of them actually interested me and I feel as if they would interest others on here too.

Here are the calls which I found to be the most notable:

Dialing up “BAAI” causes what seems to be a developer of the game to pick up and thank you for playing the game while also talking about how he used to play WarioWare as a kid and couldn’t be happier to be a part of Gold’s development.

Dialing “GAHA” brings up the text: “Wrong number, sorry. *clicks*”.

Dialing “CAFE” leads to a cafe owner telling you about how the inclusion of an Ashley doll in his cafe led to more customers.

Dialing “HAHA” ends up with the mother of new character, 13-Amp picking up the phone and going on about how they just moved to Diamond City and how she was worried that 13-Amp would struggle to make new friends and fit in.

It’s also worth noting that you don’t hear anything when making these calls, everything is displayed in text.

The code "HEAD" gives you:
"Listen, stop calling! I already said I wouldn't do it! Wait, this isn't Wario, is it? Ugh, that guy's been pestering me to make games for him. He's always been a pest, and he's never going to be anything BUT a pest. If you see Wario, tell him my decision is final. No games, no way. What's that? My name? S...sorry, gotta run."
Is that...

WALUIGI!?
Is that why he never appears in the games? Cuz he doesn't wanna make games for Wario!?
Holy fuck...

I love the theory, but I’m leaning more towards it being Ashley since she hangs up on Wario in the intro when he tries calling her to make games for him.

But she did end up making games for him.
Besides, that doesn't sound like Ashley. She's not the type that would rant like that. She'd just say no and hang up.
But the way this person whines really makes me think it's Waluigi.

The call could’ve taken place before Ashley decided to give into Wario’s constant begging, but I agree that the person in the call doesn’t seem like Ashley.

You could very well be on to something. Maybe it is Waluigi.

I've headcanoned for a while that the reason Waluigi isn't in Warioware is because Wario offered him but he declined, saying he had "better things to do" (like practicing what he was made for; sports.)

Good to see that Nintendo and I seem to see eye-to-eye on this, and I'm pretty convinced it is Waluigi on the line.

Maybe. But I have never seen Waluigi being that negative towards Wario. They do have their arguments, but this person sounds really hateful.
I dunno, I could easily see a fight break out between the two if one wants something the other doesn't.
And if Wario has been bugging him for a while now, it would explain why they aren't on the best terms.

:wah: Make me games!
No! :waluigishocked:
:wah: Do it!
No! :waluigishocked:
:wah: Come on!
NAAAAAOOOOO!!!! WAHHH!!!:waluigishocked:

Also consider Waluigi's as self-interested as Wario, knows his nature, and knows he'll get conned out of the ordeal.

hmmm, is this voice actor the mysterious "BAIII" person? I don,t speak japanese but the translate feature pukes out something among the lines of "I played the series since I was a kid and I'm happy my dream has come true"

Actually, there's interesting evidence that points to someone else.

In other languages, it says that a female is speaking, which pretty much drops Waluigi from the board. And since the caller says that Wario has "always been a pest", this must mean they have a negative history together. Only one woman that we all know would be this negative...

Captain Syrup.

Now I wanna know what the exact wording is.
And what the original japanese version says.

Maybe I'm looking for dots that aren't there (I am certainly for dots that aren't there) , but this theory makes this part

"What's that? My name? S..."

... very interesting. I haven't unlocked any of the phones yet but once I'll do I'll post how that plays out in the NA french translation.

Also can you elaborate on what indicates the person is a woman?

edit: @Samcrumpit in the discord said this about the spanish translation

I think she does. She says she isn't "loca" which I think is the feminine form for crazy.

Still curious to see what the original japanese says
