Thoughts on the new voices for the WarioWare Gold Characters?

Well, we've discussed it a bit in the topic and on Discord, but what do you think about the new voices for each of the WarioWare Gold cast? Personally, my thoughts are as follows:

Main Characters
  • Wario: Oh hey, Martinet made Wario's voice a bit higher pitched. I prefer the older more gruff voice myself, but hey, this variant is a tad more understandable, and it may be easier on Martinet (who knows?)
  • Mona: Sounds okay, though a little less 'sassy' than the original character.
  • Jimmy T: Sorry, not feeling it here. It doesn't really suit his personality that much.
  • Kat and Ana: Not a huge fan here, sounds a bit off to me
  • Ashley: Very different from her original voice, and honestly, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. On the one hand, it does fit the character, and if you're not used to the old games, works well. On the other? Well, I think the original voice acting sounded a bit more... natural for the character, and less cutesy.
  • 18-Volt: Sounds good, and pretty much exactly as you'd expect him to.
  • Dribble: See above
  • Spitz: Less a fan of his updated voice than Dribble's, but it works fine for me
  • 5-Volt: Sounds good. No complaints here either
Main Characters
  • Joe: Eh, wouldn't want to listen to him speak for too long. But he's just a side character
  • Red: Same sort of deal here. Not bad, but... not that great either
  • 13-Amp: Sounds decent enough, though your mileage may vary on how 'realistic' her tone is
So yeah, your thoughts?

(wait, joe had a voice?)

Ashley: LOVE
Mona: She sounds a bit more cutesy than I'd expect but the actual performance is fine
Red: Sorry little guy but I don't think you're cut out for the ASMR bizz
Jimmy: I like the original deep voice better but I think the new actor does the disco stu thing decently all things considered
Kat: sounds a bit old
18-Volt: perfect casting
9-Volt: oh wow it sucks

some of the characters I tihnk could've used deeper or younger-sounding voices but the game's ovveral vocal acting level is a pleasant surprise

Wario: it's just Wario
Mona: It's fine. I don't love it but I can't really complain about it.
Jimmy T: I preferred the deeper tone of his original voice but this fits too.
Kat: Sounds a tad too old and again with the breathy voices!!
Ana: Sounds fine to me though.
Ashley: Too old and breathy though the tone and acting are what I would expect.
18-Volt: So far the only real upgrade I see compared to the original voices.
Dribble: Really good
Spitz: I was hoping they'd do a more... cat-like voice? He just sounds like some dude in this.
5-Volt: Sounds like a mom and that's pretty much her whole character at this point.

Joe: Don't care
Red: I expected him more to sound like some kind of kid. Not really sure what to make of the voice we got.
13-Amp: Sounds like some anime character. That voice is really familiar.

I don't wanna be ungrateful about the voice acting but Jimmy and muh boi 9-Volt got hit the worst. Jimmy doesn't have that sexy deep voice anymore and 9-Volt sounds like young Trunks from DBZ instead of having his unique voice. :c

I Don't think I'm ready for Wario to speak full lines of Dialogue; I'm used to just his One-Liners, and grunts, and Cackles; And Doing what he's done before this game, must've been SO much easier for Charles Martinet.

Orbulon has a voice filter but Mike doesn't. :Seriously?: Why? It sounds cheep.
9-Volt sounds so generic and bland.
Mona sounds too cutesy for my liking.
Jimmy is basically a completely different person. I'll call him Bimmy T., Jimmy's less smooth, less sexy sounding twin brother.
18-Volt is perfect in every way. I want him to say "SHOOQUAH!"
Fronk makes me honk. That is to say I love his voice.
Crygor's voice makes me cry.... gor. :shokorasob:

rip the octopus dude in the beginning of warioware's cutscene and on spitz n dribble's taxi isn't an actual character, initiate sadface.
Well uhhh everyone sounds find but 5-volt sounds like a MILF, got what I came here to do!

Rating board:
Wario/Mona: 5/5-Alright
Jimmy/Mike:4/5- Not all that bad, really
Dribble/Spitz:4/5- For some reason, I really like new Spitz voice
5-Volt/18-Volt/Penny/Orbulon: 5/5- Just what we could expect from them.
Ashley: 4/5- Oh god, you sound bored. Have some sleep.
Dr. Crygor/Cricket: 5/5- Nailed it!
Fronk:4/5- You dont sound like tiny little bug. Still fits.
9-Volt: 3/5- What the heck... Okay, it slowly grows on me.

For being the first entry with full voice acting, I am very impressed here.

The performances are solid, direction is great and most of the voices I've heard generally fit the characters well (With a few exceptions.), and I can tell they're having fun here, Especially Charles Martinet.

Now I will admit, there are some voices that threw me off at first and after being used to the Treehouse voices from previous games, it's gonna take some time to adjust to the new voices.

Overall though, I really like it and I wouldn't mind it if they keep this cast for future WarioWare material.

Honestly; I'd Want them to go back to before they did all Voice-Acting, since I'm a Backwards Nostalgia-Blinded guy who liked the minimal Voiced Grunts & Noises; Since It wouldn't be too hard for Charles Martinet to voice wario WITHOUT sounding High-Pitched(I Know it was easier for him to do a High-Pitched Wario for Full Lines of Dialogue, But It doesn't sound Gruff enough to be Wario-like; ergo, I Prefer NON-Voice Acting for Warioware AND Wario land; I Also Don't want them to start Fully Voice Acting The Wario Land Games, If Nintendo EVER feels like Bringing that Wario series Back, since They've had YET to even make O-N-E Single Wario land game since Wario Land Shake It)

Wario's voice has always been kind of high pitched. The only times it wasn't were in the Smash Bros. games, which were imo thw worst portrayals of Wario even though Charles Martinet voiced him there. It's too deep and makes him off to be a dumb fat guys who farts and makes "Wa" noises.
