Thoughts on the new voices for the WarioWare Gold Characters?

Smash is the most noticable example, but Wario has generally had a lower and gruffer tone in his voice in most games since 2008, when beforehand it was always fairly high pitched like in Gold, especially in Wario World or Mario Strikers Charged.

It definitley wasn't as extreme as Smash though. Plus he still had a slightly high voice in Charles Martinet's Instagram videos.

Oh, I absolutely agree that Smash is the worst offender, I usually don't mind the gruffer version of Wario, but his Smash voice clips always sounded pretty lifeless and devoid of energy to me.
In my opinion they really should redo his lines to make them sound more energetic and even add in dialogue (especially for his throws) so his vocabulary doesn't only consist of "Wa" and "GO".

While not a new "voice actor" I kind of dig Martinet's new "voice" in the Wario Deluxe commercial. If we ever got a serious Wario like in SML2 again(well as serious as that was) I feel like he could do a pretty good serious villain Wario.

I guess just a few final things I'd like to say. I said in a different post, the voice cast is quite good quality and I'd definitely like to see these guys take a second stab at the characters. I don't really have any issues with any of the voices. Even Ashley's voice grew on me. That being said, I feel like it'd fit better with her old proportions that she had prior to the Badge Arcade stuff where her proportions became more child-like.

Souw, I set my 3DS to englisch the second I got my hands on WarioWare Gold, both because of Martinet and because I figured that the english dub in general would be the most ''relevant'' one to discuss, but now I finally listened into the german dub (german speaker right here).

On the whole it's pretty solid, 9-Volt sounds kind of unmotivated in how he's dubbed and german Wario while not a bad voice in it's own right, doesn't even try to sound anything like Martinet. For the most part it's fine though, Jimmy and Dr Crygor in particular are excellent even and that's not even going into Dribble and Spitz:

This won't mean anything to anyone who doesn't speak german, but those bavarian and berlinerisch dialects not only work perfectly on them, but are just hillarious to listen to, I was laughing myself stupid all the way .

A lot of the voices seem more fitting in my opinion than back at the beginning of the series. In general some of it made me adore characters I used to really not care for before due to the design and voice like 9 Volt. I’ll agree with some posters here how Mona’s voice doesn’t fit her personality, however.

Ashley’s voice is the one I dislike the most. I don’t dislike her as a character but her voice in Touched is more fitting for how Nintendo tries to localize her in my opinion.

Seems like I'm the only one here who love Ashley's Gold voice and hope Erica Lindbeck stays her official voice. Maybe she sounds a bit too old (but perhaps NOA still pretends Ashley is 15, idk) but her voice absolutely fits Ashley's personallity and demeanor.

Is it too late to discuss thoughts about the new voices? Oh well.

Wario: I didn't feel any sense of change.
Mona: Perfect
Jimmy T.: Too high-pitched than his old one.
Kat and Ana: When I first here their voices Ana's somewhat reminds me of Katie from Total Drama. Other than that, they fit.
9-Volt: Cuter
Orbulon: That voice is so adorable!
Crygor: Dull and quite bad, but he's over 100 years old...
Dribble and Spitz: Fitting!
18-Volt: Perfect!
Ashley and Red: Good
Mike: Alright
Penny: Too young...
Cricket: I used to despise his new voice since it doesn't fit my taste, but since then I've managed to grow with it. I still miss his old voice, though.
Mantis: He didn't have one before, but I'm still counting him since he's old. Perfect.
5-Volt: (Same as Mantis): Fits
Fronk: Now that's surprising considering the species have a squeaking voice. Maybe that's what they actually sound like when you listen to them closely!
