  • You know, something they never explain in Christmas Movies, is how do the north pole and the major toy companies collab? like what's Hasbro and mattel's role in this gig, what about Lego or Takara Tomy? or hell what about Sony & Nintendo & Mircosoft? since their consoles and games tend to come from Santa, i know that's odd, but nobody ever questions this fact.

There's always the ignorant "IT'S FOR KIDZ" excuse. How does it being "for kids" remove any logic or realism from the story and characters, though? Are they basically saying that children's entertainment is of low standards?!

    ...Yay, ranting.

Personally, I'd guess it's because of one of the following:

    1. The toy companies use Santa's facilities to make toys cheaply throughout the rest of the year, or get sent any left overs. So in exchange for letting him make stuff under their brands, they get cheap manufacturing labour for the toy industry.

    2. Santa uses the wealth from his merchandising and publicity rights to pay for any necessary licenses.

    3. They work with him because he's a really big name influencer with millions (maybe even billions?) of fans and a name that's known both globally and through history. So the companies see it as really good advertising/product placement, like how many will sponsor a big name TV show or YouTube celebrity.

    4. They actually help supply the products as well as the licenses, in an extension of the above.

Does anyone here consider Stonecarving City to be overrated as hell? Like it's a good song don't get wrong, but I wouldn't consider it the theme of Wario like most people do or like Nintendo does nowadays. I think the best themes suited for Wario is either of the greenhorn themes (Forest or Ruins are both great equally.) Or the classic theme from WL1 and 2 (either way, they'll be better themes for him then Stonecarving City.)
Okay gonna be serious for a minute, 2016 has been a mixed year for Nintendo.

Better than last year? Can't say I agree there, 2015 was a lot better especially for software. We had some wonderful games IMO (Splatoon in particular I adored) and a not-so-bad E3. 2016 on the other hand has been one of the worst years for Nintendo I've ever experienced. And seriously, Splatoon is just phenomenal. I don't care what anyone says.

Yeah I'll admit that since I posted that, my opinion has changed slighty. Now I consider 2016 the horrible year for Nintendo, With 2015 being the mixed one.

It was better than the last half of 2015, and perhaps on par with the first half of 2015. First one gave us Super Mario Maker and Splatoon. Last half gave us Amiibo Festival, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash and Mario & Luigi Paper Jam. And had poor Satoru Iwata die.

Welp, looks like Nintendo is not releasing anything for Mario run. And it looks to be a disappointment by both shareholders and Nintendo. You know, why I am disappointed by this, I think Nintendo could definitely learn from this. For one, don't price your games 10.00 bucks. And two, don't mislead people to download your game only to make them pay up. (All yeah, and a Offline only mode would also be nice.)

Nintendo are 100% up themselves when it comes to pricing their old games. No matter how simplistic or dated, if it's on a Nintendo system it's usually automatic gold. This horrid mentality carries over to the vintage collecting scene (especially on eBay).

Case in point: if I want to buy Aladdin for my good old Mega Drive, it's a dime a dozen on eBay. But if you want the very different (and less-respected) SNES version... Hohoh! Get ready to pay through the teeth. It even happens with identical or inferior ports on Nintendo systems - they're more expensive.

I can get Sonic 1 and 2 for a tidy sum, but Mario World 1 and 2 are rip-offs, and none of those games are remotely rare!

I find ebay to be a horrible place to shop for video games most of the time. (Unless you want that rare game.) Amazon is much better when you just want to find a video game.
The NSMB series needs to die off at this point. Now don't get me wrong, I don't hate these games, (I actually love DS and U.) but now at this point, it's been overdone. And now it's starting to damage both Mario's and Nintendo's reputation as a whole. I think if Nintendo does do a new 2D Mario for the Switch or whatever, it should a brand new adventure with new power ups and environments and level design, as opposed to the same bland crap that we had been getting since 2006.

Agree. But I have to say, I liked the series very much until after NSMB Wii.

I love DS and U. I used to like NSMBWii, but U improved on every aspect of it. Better visuals, better controls, and the new tracks are actually really catchy and good. (Just wish it wasn't just the overworld and the athletic themes.) Plus it's inspired by my favorite 2D Mario game, Super Mario World, plus I never liked using my wiimote sideways. (I'm a nunchuck person.) Now NSMB2, why I do think it gets a little too much hate, it's still a very disappointing game. It just felt everything was going too by the numbers In that game. Plus the reward is very fucking disappointing for all things considered. (Seriously a fucking title change, that's as bad as sunshine's reward.) But as I've mentioned before, I do think it gets too much hate. I definitely think it's a good play and chill kind of game. And TBF, from a technical standpoint, NSMB2 is better then NSMBDS. But I just like DS more due to originally. But If you want just a classic and traditional Mario game and nothing more then that, then I think it's a good choice. (Though U or Wii would be my choices.)

In fact I'll admit I was a bit too hard on them, I get what they were trying to do, and I don't usually consider them in the same line as the mainline games. (I view them the same as I do with the Mario Kart series. Just spin-offs) They are games aimed towards more casual audiences and typically have a more casual mindset. I just wish Nintendo would stop bleeding it into the Mario universe. And making them a part of the mainline series. I don't mind more consistency in the Marioverse, (I'm welcome with any sort of continuity.) but the NSMB series is generally not a good place to get consistency from. If it was it's own little thing not trying to be part of the same series as Super Mario Galaxy or Super Mario 64, then I wouldn't have given them as much shit as I do now.
I think what Super Mario Run could improve on in the future, is cut the price in half. (4.99 would be perfect for this game.) have two extra worlds (Because 8 worlds in Mario is tradition.) have a offline mode containing just the main mode and none of the other stuff. Expand on the kingdom builder a bit more. (It's too simple right now.) Maybe have more playable characters in future updates or as MyNintendo rewards. (Hey if Peach, Toadette and Yoshi can be playable characters, Why not Wario, Daisy or Rosalina.) that's all i could think of at the moment.

I'm personally more interested in the long term. Like as soon as I saw the first couple of trailers and info, I knew exactly what to expect from this kind of game. (Okay the multiple playable characters were a surprise but that's it.) I'm more interested to see what animal crossing and fire emblem have to deliver to the iOS and Android marketd, And of course as a Warioware fan I hope to see a Mobile Warioware as well. (Seriously this series is such an obvious choice for the mobile market. And I'll introduce newbies to the all glorious Wario.)
    Ninja_Cat

Toadette is playable? Well that was unexpected. Maybe there's a possibility of updates happening like a lot of mobile games, where one could be Wario.
They should really try to get this game out there. People in real life were talking about Pokemon Go a lot before it was even out and I haven't heard any of them talk about Mario Run... (and release on Android!)

Another thing I thought of, that I hadn't said in the op, is either get rid of the demo entirely and have people pay for it outright, or make it a separate thing ala Angry Birds and The Sonic ports. Seriously it's a stupid practice to get people to download a free game, only to be blocked by a paywall finding out that they need to have money to buy it. Even though it was free to download. (This, the overall price of the experience, and the online only aspect is actually damaging Nintendo as I'm saying this. Because thanks to the bad reviews and these stupid as hell practices, they just lost 2 million dollars.)

Due to popular demand, I have created a new group for MK8. Now featuring 150cc and Teams. (Wario vs Mario.) Here's the code. 5361-0809-7031 Enjoy
I know this is a cliche gaming question, But just because I'm curious, who do you typically play as in the Mario Kart series? Me! wellll, I'm a Mario guy personally, (Yes call me boring all you want.)
Hey guys, with all the MK8 talk, I decided to create a Wario forums group. This will be a group that only members are allowed to join. (No lurkers allowed.) I've posted the code on the shoutbox if anyone is interested.
Hey i've just opened a Tumblr account a while ago, there's currently nothing there. but i should come up with some neat & interesting stuff in the future. Oh yeah & don't worry about the privacy alert, it's safe. (It's the http that's setting it off for some reason.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9j-MHzwEQ8 Looks like Nintendo and Universal has officially annouced the deal. It's strongly implied to be Super Mario themed, which i'm Not at all suprised since it's Nintendo's flagship franchise, & it's the one everyone & their grandmothers knows. but i do hope other nintendo worlds appear as well (Seriously, Imagine a Metroid Dark Ride) and it's officially coming to all 3 parks (Japan, Orlando, & LA) Though Japan would probably come first for obivous reasons. Anyways i'm hugely pumped for this. & Thank God i don't need to travel to Japan to experince this.

& Yes, I know Nintendo & Universal had confirmed the deal in the past, but this is the first time that they actually made an annoucement regarding it. and also regarding the Japan comment, Nintendo is rumored to be coming to Japan first. (With it opening By the 2020 Tokyo Olympics)

You know I have a question, why do people keep complaining about sequels and reboots, and stuff they don't like. And are claiming that they're ruining they're "Childhood" But yet, despite the constant complaining they go see or buy it anyway thus giving companies a valid reason to continue the trend, (because it makes Money) *Sigh* This is why I never get people sometimes.

If it makes you feel better, I generally don't buy things I'm sure will be a disappointment, or if I do, I'm not expecting it to be good going in, but nonetheless after the marketers stopped caring about it.

It's funny how people consider the Sonic fandom to be so toxic, & the Mario fandom to be so peaceful, when in reality, it's just as toxic as Sonic's fandom, it's just that Sonic's fandom is bigger making it more noticable and Mario has a better reputation among gamers then sonic does, thus it's toxic side is more hidden.

@CM30 i've never actually thought of that actually, most of the Sonic and Mario fans I met have been very open minded about what other people like and not like. But still the minority that is there, is freaking crazy and toxic.

hey guys, I've just went and removed all of my Nintendo hate statements in the miitopia thread, I was being very illogical and i didn't really bother to think. So just to be serious for a moment, I don't believe Nintendo hates Wario, They just don't know what to do with him, (DK was in a similar position during the 2000s) and I like to think that hopefully in the next five years, Wario would come back better then ever. After all It took almost twenty years before DKC finally got a track in Mario Kart. I was just upset at the lack of appearances lately, and i took it out on both you and Nintendo. And made myself look stupid in the process. so I just want to say... i'm sorry. That is all.
