A bit surprising, but on June 28th, Tatsumi Kimishima: president of Nintendo since Iwata's death will be retiring from the position and will serve as a advisory role within the company. In his place will be Shuntaro Furukawa, Who has joined Nintendo in 1994 and has worked with it and the Pokémon Company and currently serves as Nintendo’s Managing Executive Officer, Supervisor of Corporate Analysis & Administration Division and Director, and was involved with the Switch's marketing and sales as well. According to Kimishima and the original source, it's because Kimishima wanted Nintendo's Management to be younger to better understand it's customers.

Now while Kimishima's tenure was very short compared to most of Nintendo's presidents and there's admittedly not much to mention, he has done a fine job carrying the late Iwata's legacy as president and bringing Nintendo back to success after the Wii U's failure. Hopefully Furukawa continues this trend of success for Nintendo and good luck to him.
