You remember the Shoulder Charge from Mario Golf World Tour right?
After charging on to the tee Wario will do this animation:
Which looks just like the animation when you change your direction while sprinting in Shake it:
The Charge itself looks a lot like the one in Shake it too, meaning this was likely intentional.
This jumping animation from the Smash Bros games:
Looks a lot like this artwork from Wario Ware Twisted:

Wario having this colour sheme in Smash:
Is very remenicent of the player one Wario colour sheme from Mega Party Game$:

Nah... I think the smash bros outfit is just supposed to be a Mario imitation, and I think Mario Bros. one is just a simple recolour of Mario/Luigi, having nothing to do with Wario. I mean, who's the blue guy?
I just thought it was interesting to point out that this particular pallete swap does have a little relevance to Wario.
As for the Mario Bros argumant: they are all recolours and one just happens to be Wario based.
As for the blue recolour: it might be based of Stanley from Donkey Kong 3, but I'm not too sure on that:

Wario makes direct mention of the Black Jewel from Wario World in Fortune Street:
Nintendo Land's Luigi's Ghost Mansion minigame gives the third and fourtht player Miis costumes of Waluigi and Wario respectivly:
Mario Party 4's present diorama for Wario is very interesting:
See the Bike, it's not exactly the same as the Ware one, but it comes close and this game predates the Ware series by only a year, so yeah, epic bit of forshadowing right there!
It's also interesting to note that the diorama is depicting Wario living in a Castle, which harkens back to the days of
Wario Land 2 and the W symbols on the wall kind of look like the one from Land 2 :

Oh wow, a WarioWare stage, that's great! Can't say I expected that!
I mean, it only goes back to Touched!, but still cool!
Depressed about the lack of Shoulder Charge in Smash For?
Fear not, Mario Sports Mix is here:
Walking towards a player who has the basketball and is facing the hoop for a few seconds will cause Wario to ram into them with his trusty charge!
This one is also a lot closer to the traditional charge than the ice hockey one, that I have mentioned before, since it's on the ground and covers a much bigger distance!

His Super ability from the same game "Gasmask" has him engulf his opponents in a cloud of farts:

Wario doesn't explode when the attack succeds, he just gets dragged in to the spikes, but the rest of the attack looks very similar.

I'm currently trying to get one specific quote in Fortune Street, but since Wario has to be AI controlled I might not get it today, or anytime soon for that matter...
