I'm extremly happy to see the prime primape back in action,I did not expect that at all, his inclusion really tells me that they are trying to appeal to the long time fans of the series, which is perfectly fine in my book.
The only other character that I'm activly hoping for is Toadette and judging from her placement on this japanese cover:
She might actually be in, why else would they put her right next to Toad (who is playable),considering that they are partners in almost every game they appear in together.
Hey look at the bright side, with her beeing playable we can expose her to all kinds of cartoon violence and given the amounts of options the Mario Party series offers I'm sure it will be a blast for years to come, that's honestly the only reason why I'm okay with her beeing in the game, at least the two of us will get something out of it. ;-)
I never paid too much attention to the Mario Party series. The only one I played for more than five seconds was Mario Party 4. That was a fun one, though. I never knew DK was cut after that one.
Still, I might get this one. It'd be kind of a full circle sort of thing, and it has amiibo functionality!
Call me naive, but I'm suprisingly optimistic about them fixing the problems with the car system.
Pretty much everything they have done so far caters to long time fans of the series:
-Donkey Kong and Toadette where the most mourned after cut characters and they brought BOTH back at once!
-Bowser Party not only practicly brings back the Bowser minigames from 4-7, but it also let's you take control of the Koopa King yourself this time around!
-Amiibo Party harkens back to the classic days of the series stars, coins, items and everything!
It could just me beeing too optimistic (because I really, really,REALLY want this to be great) but I wouldn't be shocked if they heard the complaints that arose from Mario Party 9 and are trying to fix them, while still maintaining the new style, three years between 9-10 should have given them enough time to do so.
Mind you we are still lacking a full comfirmation, but him having official artwork next to all those playable characters and his placement on the cover art strongly suggest it, especially given the Toadette situation from before.
Your thoughts on it?
Personally I wouldn't mind it all that much since the dude has never had a playable role before, that could just be me beeing easy to please thought, because the 10 characters that I REALLY want in Mario Party (Mario,Luigi,Peach,Yoshi,Wario,Donkey Kong, Daisy,Waluigi,Toad and Toadette) and Bowser are already comfirmed.
Mario Party 6's Snowflake Lake board had Whackas appearing, that's the only other one I can think of thought. (in Mario Party anyway,Koopatrools where in Mario Pinball Land/Super Mario Ball)
It's interesting that Wario Man brought up the artworks, since they arent reused, they are redone.
Compare this Luigi:
To the new one:
An odd choice given that the Toads and Rosalina have completely new artworks, but it's definentally more interesting than just recycling old stuff.
