Wario-based SMW hack

Hey, everyone, I have been working for the past few days on a Wario-based SMW hack. When I started SMW hacking back in 2009, I started trying to make a Wario hack, but it fell through. Five years later, I am much more experienced and capable. So far I don't have much, but I'll show what I've got.

First, I've imported some voice samples from Wario World and replaced some sound effects with them. I have also done some fancy stuff with the status bar (although it's not done yet).

Second, I have started to make the overworld map, although it is pretty bare-bones right now. It is loosely based on the Kansai region of Japan, because I thought it looked nice.

I also ripped player graphics for the overworld.

Finally, a few years ago, I made a Wario Dash patch that I'll be using in the hack.

So that's what I've got so far. I've got some ideas for the gameplay, but I'm not ready to talk about them quite yet. I'm also not ready to show this on SMW Central yet, so please keep this stuff on this site only.

I love the voice clips and the graphics you have so far. However, one quick recommendation:

Try the 32 x 32 character graphics patch. Trust me, it's what Wario Land SNES (a Wario Land 1 remake I helped with) used, and it makes Wario look much, much better:

Use that patch, and then you can use Wario's Wario Land 4 player graphics DIRECTLY from the game. Which will make him look amazing, and much better than the 'somewhat fatter Mario' that most Wario Land hacks have him as.

My other recommendation (if you want) is to look for some Wario Land style level graphics. They're not always necessary, but damn, there are some really lovely Wario Land 4 tilesets and backgrounds on SMW Central, and you should perhaps consider using some of 'em.

Keep up the good work though!
