I'm not too sure on the canonicity being stated on DK's fight with Little Mac, but for Starfy, Wario appears for all the levels of a stage, helps you progress, and even teaches Starfy a new ability.

I mean, in the case of Punch Out and Starfy, the characters actually play a genuine role in what's happening. In Kirby Super Star, that one is literally just an easter egg and has no weight on the Dedede fight. Not really comparable in my opinion.

Don't forget to include Starfy, Wario makes an appearance there

Wario Land 3 had something like that, you get new treasures that give you new powers which allow you to reach treasures in other levels that opens up more levels.

Wario World wouldn't be too hard if they just follow the foundation they laid down. The combat is fun as hell even if pointless. They just really need to make the game a smidge more difficult. Once you get shitloads of coins, you can just die 100...
