I agree with that! As long as there are actually stakes to playing poorly, then that's alright with me. I actually like the fact that in Mega Man 2, the game takes away your E-Tanks if you Game Over as opposed to every other Mega Man game. Like...
Not all games need a life system, but I can see why they exist, to put something at stake. Whether you game over in Mega Man, or get knocked out of the ring in Wario Land, the punishment is having to play through the level again, and a lot of the...
I wouldn't say WarioWare has a life system. It's even though they are called lives and 1-ups, they behave more like hit points, allowing to continue the continue when you make a mistake instead of sending you back to a checkpoint. WarioWare...
In the past couple, I noticed an increase in the people saying that live system are always bad and are only something leftover from the arcade only to eat up your coins, make a game artificially harder or longer. Personally, I don't think that's...
Also after all this time I FINALLY GOT PAST 6000 MUSCLES IN MEGAGAME MUSCLES!! I was freaking out and I hurt my neck a little, totally worth it XD On the 2 year anniversary of this amazing game too!
I think one of my favorite things about the WarioWare series is how no two games in the franchise have the same aesthetic. I am consistently amazed by how each one has such a distinct vibe to it, not even just the microgames!
Litterly. And they were both inspired by Wario Land, so I'd say they're still kinda related.
Pizza Tower leans closer to Wario Land 3 and 4. 3 for the fact that you can't die, and 4 for pretty much everything else.
They pretty much took Wario's...
And Pizza Tower and AntonBalst have cartoony artstyles as well as hyper dynamic gameplay.
Ok, those games aren't actually related but I still found it funny.
It plays like the first Wario Land, but it's a lot faster and smoother.
It's actually kinda funny how every two Wario Land games are very similar. 2 and 3, you can't die and there's a lot of puzzle mechanics, and 4 & Shake It have the escape...
I didn't finish it but I will say I really dig how Wario controls in this game. The Shoulder Bash never felt as good as in this game.
Wario Land 1.5 sounds about right too.
I can understand them being ashamed of the Virtual Boy, but not Virtual Boy Wario Land. That game slaps!:carpetride:
It's a shame most people don't know it exists.
If we ever get a remake of VB Wario Land, they should call it "Wario Land 1.5"
Late, but I remember seeing this. Though I assumed it was just a German patch for a the US rom.
I guess one way to verify that is to look for ROM hacks that would patch the game in German and then compare it with the video.
Or how Wario Land 2 is actually third since VB Wario Land released before it. Though an argument could be made it's more of a spin-off (either that or Nintendo was too ashamed to actually acknowledge it. It's probably that)
I like your thinking. And that can work for both Super Mario Bros and New Super Mario Bros.
It always bugged me that New Super Mario Bros 2 was called that, since it's actually the the third one in the series.
