I prefer the original big ("Duke") controller due to its better button layout, greater stick precision, and better rumble motors... but it is pretty fucking big.
What kind of problems are you having with them? I cant really help you or anything, am just curious. I have not had any problems with them yet. (Though the disk drives for the original xbox are pretty terrible)
