Public domain would mean they don't belong to anyone. But they do. That's why you have to buy the rights to use them. But they are commercially available to the public, yes.

Sorry I haven't been very active on here for a while. I've been pretty busy with other stuff. ...and recently I sometimes come here and I just feel... ...I dunno... ...out of place...

It's a stock sound effect/voice clip from a sound library. Anyone can buy those and use them. So both GTA and WL4 got them from the same source. What we're trying to find out is what that source is, so we can get all the original clips in high quality, to recreate the song in HD.

Guys! I found some samples in the GTA 1 soundtrack! Has anyone mentioned this yet? This has the "and unity" clip in it: At least I think it's the same clip. And this has some of the female samples in it. Listen in the last third of the video. It has the "That's mother FUNK YEAH" or whatever...

I mean... it could be the greatest site in the world for all I know, but when your very first experience is not only a cockblock, but the site wants to immediately coax you into giving them money, as well as giving them your "full name" on registration, maybe you can see how that could put some...

I honestly don't remember where I got it from, I just had it lying around. But I know I didn't rip it myself. I was playing around with the Mother 3 soundfont and needed a midi to try it out on, so I picked this one cuz I like the song. :shokorashrug:

I really like this stuff, but sadly I don't know most of these songs, so I have no frame of reference or investment in them. I thought about using the mother 3 soundfont on a Master of Disguise song. The soundtrack is still the best thing about that game.
