Did Wario win the original Mario Party game (in universe)?

Well, he does claim to be the Superstar in the Mario Party 2 intro, though it's debatable whether he's merely making himself look good there:



So what do you think? Could the Nintendo 'canon' be that Wario won the original game?

Nobody seems to argue that he's wrong, they just don't like the idea of naming it Wario Land. Seems pretty likely, especially considering it's clear that Mario doesn't win every time. Luigi is pretty clearly the protagonist of Mario Party 3's story mode if you look at the characters you encounter in it, since the only time you face him is if you come to the part where you would normally face the character you're playing as.
