Do you consider the entry/amethyst passage and golden passage to be polar opposites, and related?

I think an a way: yes, they are opposites, and have a relation.

Entry/Amethyst passage:
The beginning passage
Has a boss you can never fight again after you defeat him (Always marked with an X on the portrait and icon on the file selection screen, door is permanently sealed after he is defeated (That to me, in a way, makes every fight against him special))

Golden passage:
The ending passage
Has a boss that never stays defeated at any time in the game (i.e. Portrait and icon on the file selection menu are never marked with an X, and the door remains open for all eternity)

Both:
They have one level
They require one complete gem to open their boss doors
They do not have a CD
The levels look a bit similar to each other (Pillars in the background, similar tileset, etc.)

Do you agree?

Also, I dub the Entry Passage the 'Amethyst' Passage, because it is purple like the gemstone, and the other passages are gemstones (Emerald/green, Ruby/red, Topaz/yellow, Sapphire/blue, Golden/gold(Ok, it's not a gemstone, but it is still precious non the less))

i see your point. They're also probably the two passages actually set inside the pyramid itself. The other levels seem to be outside areas you teleport to for the level.
