Ethnicity headcannon for fictional charaters ?

What are your headcannons for origins for fictional characters ? Excluding the ones that alredy have an official one like Mario.

As a kid I always thought that Daisy had North African origins due to:
- She sometimes has a tan skin tone
- The first level in Mario Land being a desert
- Sarasaland sounding Sahara and Sarracen

(Also maybe because I'm Algerian and I was projecting a bit )
