Gameplay
- Having the game be a callback to Smooth Moves is a great idea, even starting with the Japanese name and the name of the final boss!
- The game being released in 2023 makes for an amazing 20 year anniversary game for the series!
- The fact that we even got two mainline games in the series since the GBA titles is insane with both games being different enough from each other!
- The Japanese website is cool as hell and has great footage of the game with the character art!
- The art of the characters in their new outfits is awesome!
- The art direction in this game is outstanding with it finally going back to using a lot of bizarre 3D models for the microgames, I love it!
- You can play the entire game with two people and having the concept of co-op microgames with sometimes different forms is amazing - like the multiplayer in Snapped!
- Bringing back the Listen to the Doctor! mode from Mega Party Game$ (as well as choosing your character) was an amazing idea, especially since now it has cool voice acting!
- The Galactic Conquest and Go the Distance modes also remind me of modes from that game!
- The Who's in Control Show is also a fun idea for four people!
- I love the returning characters in the microgames such as the couple in A Swing At Love, the girl in Match Cut, and Sameow in Finishing Blow, and the characters present in Unchained/Wriggle Out, and Magical Form, Go!/Plain Dealer!
- It is great that they put at spotlight on lesser known Nintendo titles in 9-Volt's stage such as Mario Pinball Land and Wii Play Motion!
- Megagame Muscles is an absolute chaotic BANGER and one of the best vocal tracks in the series along with how fun the mode is!
- The music overall in the game is just awesome, even with the microgames such as Take a Stab and Ultra Scope!
- We get introduced to the cool female Pyoro character!
- Also lots of cool Rhythm Heaven cameos such as the Reporter in the new WarioWare series style!
- There are 11 BOSS STAGES in the game which I think is a first!
- The designs of each of the temples is honestly really cool and has great music!
- The game is tied with Twisted! for the most amount of microgames after Gold!
Gameplay
- After Get It Together! (which is great in its own right) this is an incredible return to form, fully utilizing the Switch's capabilites!
- The tag in feature when playing with two players works amazingly so that both players get a fair shot!
- The Hand Model games in particular are an outstanding way to use the IR camera when most Switch titles do not and it is incorporated seamlessly!
- The YouTuber Gazpacho1 pointed out in his retrospective that Dribble & Spitz' games using buttons might be a reference to Twisted!
- Having Ashley & Red and Orbulon's stages in the first half of the game is an awesome change of pace!
- Boss games such as Poison Apple, Uniform Distribution, and Super Wario Dance Company all feel like such classic boss stages in the series!
- The microgames work so well and feel just the right amount of chaotic with the different forms and how fast the game goes!
- Games such as Cormorant Catch, Rubber Stamp, Pin Drop Match Cut make great use of the different forms!
- Having a tower dedicated to these two player versions of the games is a great idea!
- The Showdown mode is an even better version of the one in Gold with the players playing as Young Cricket and Master Mantis!
- Copycat Mirror is also a brilliant idea with the Japanese website even giving you cutouts of Ashley and Red to wear!
- This is hilarious to do XD
- Giving the player the Second Chance Stance is a great idea as well to make the game more accessible!
- Having the remix stages start on level 2 for the microgames like the earlier games while the bosses are at level 3 is exactly how it should be in my opinion!
- Wario's final level actually making the player dance in between the games before speeding up while the crowd builds up is genius!
- FULL VOICE ACTING IS BACK! And even though Charles is not (unfortunately), the cutscenes are still incredible and well animated!
- The Latin American dub is incredible as well even though there are some changes to the actors!
- For the first time ever there is a Dutch dub with some talented voice actors!
- The form explanations are great and give nice lore to the overarching theme of the game - the Baw-Kaw rap in particular is super funny!
- The hilarious plotline of Wario winning the trip by ordering food - just like how the events of Gold also started because he wanted food!
- His opening cutscene in the game where he gets chased again is an awesome callback to the beginning of WarioWare: Smooth Moves!
- Orbulon's stage is awesome because we get to see a lot of references in his other stages and it even has his intro music from the first game!
- It is actually cool to see the Crygors' all having their own stage all together!
- The remix stages are absolutely adorable with all of the characters interacting with each other!
- We finally get to see Kat & Ana and Young Cricket fight in their stages!
- Also yay Young Cricket gets his own stage again after the last game!
- 9-Volt's level is just incredible - the theming around a horror themed level with the jingles is an amazing contrast to every other level in the series!
- We even get to see 13-Amp and 18-Volt hanging out some more along with the main crew!
- Also, this is the first time we see a Wario Land character, Cractus, finally make an appearance in this series - hopefully we can see more Wario Land!
- Cicada also finally gets a name through this game after having appeared first in Rhythm Heaven Fever a decade ago!
- This also connects nicely to Get It Together! since the credits of that game give names to the characters from First Contact!
- Mr. Sparkles is back!!!
- The ending of the game is super silly and it is interesting to see Wario not be as much of a villain (directly) this time around!
