@warelander let me in on this little-know fact: Wario Land Shake It's Producer at Nintendo Takahiro Harada was interviewed in the November 2008 issue of the German mag "N-Zone" and in one of the questions, he lets out Good-Feel had "a concept" for a new Wario game for both Wii and DS.

N-Zone: How long will we wait until Wario’s next adventure? Could you even imagine a comeback on the DS?

Harada: We have a concept for a new game that could fit for both Wii and the DS. Which version would you prefer? We’d love to hear your opinions!

What a missed opportunity, huh?

Maybe it's because Shake It didn't sell very well.

Hopefully GoodFeel will be interested in making Wario Land again. If not, I hope an indie studio will make it.

We always assume that, but it still broke past a million copies. It's not a mega hit, but it did decently enough as far as I can tell. Probably got canned because it was expensive and didn't make NSMB numbers.

And thus, the last Wario Land game is turning 17 this year. That's a real shame, I would loved to have a DS Wario Land. It always seemed like a franchise that worked better on handled to me.

I mean why release an original and creative games that sells decently enough when you can resell the same game every two years or so and still end up winning big ! That's like the most Wario thing they could've done so I guess we did get Wario in some capacity.

Wow, I cannot believe I never knew this until now. I could only imagine how awesome those future potential games could have been! I have been dying for another Land game. Hopefully a studio can give the series the love it deserves. Same with Punch-Out!! and other 'dead' franchises.

To be fair, Punch-Out is all wrapped up with Mac's retirement at the end of Mac's Last Stand mode
