What is your fondest memory about video games? Was there a moment related to video games that you remember with great fondness or affection? What things do you remember about video games that are so great that you will probably never forget them? What was the moment you enjoyed the most about video games?

One of my happiest moments involving video games was on August 23, 2025, when a friend held a Mortal Kombat 1 tournament with prizes for his birthday. I made it very far because I was very good at using the same attacks as T-1000, but a friend of mine beat me in the end. The best part was that this friend had to face another friend who had always won all the previous birthday tournaments (yes, this birthday boy held a video game tournament every year on his birthday), and miraculously, this champion who had always won the video game tournaments at that birthday boy's previous birthday parties was defeated by this friend who beat me in an epic battle. We were all amazed and happy.
 
I have a couple:
  • Playing Super Mario Galaxy when I was ~7. The first video game I got into. My first copy got broken and I wasn't able to get another one until around 5 years later. Only then was I able to finish the game.
  • My dad getting me SMG2 right after my Arabic lessons as a reward for my good grades. When we arrived at the game store, they had "get 3 for the price of 2" deal so I ended up with SMG2, Mario & Sonic London 2012 and FIFA 15 because I was in my football phase... I did not play more than 1 hour of that last one but the two others were totally worth it.
  • Sonic 3 & Knuckles when I was around 8-9, I used to play that game on an online Genesis emulator that didn't have a save feature so I had to go through everything in one sitting. My dream was to get to the Doomsday Zone because it just looked so cool but I'd always give up on the last boss of Death Egg Zone until I finally managed to beat it like 15 times.
