In Wario Land 4, you can choose to play the game on three difficulties. Normal, Hard or (once you've beaten the game at least once), Super Hard mode.
These change the number of enemies per level, the amount of time you have to get out after hitting the switch, your starting HP and a number of other things about the game.
However, the setup never appeared elsewhere in the franchise. Shake It's challenges technically asked you to win without taking damage or to complete certain objectives, but it was never mandatory to make progress. And in other games, there was no extra challenge to speak of.
So, do you want to see the difficulty system return? Or would you rather future games just abandoned the idea?
