I've been playing a lot of 2D Mario recently and is it weird that one I had the most fun with was SMB1? There's something so cool about speeding through the levels due to how linear they are the other games just don't have.

Yeah not a fan of open worlds either. I'd like something more contained like SM64. Maybe a 3D game with a formula to WL4 would work?

2D, unless the 3D one doesn't follow the open world trend and go for colorful visuals, then I'd go with that
