So, recently I released the source code for my unfinished WarioWare fangame on here and thought it'd be cool to share some ideas I had for it. Note that I didn't write any of the ideas I had (which is terrible practice btw) and am going purely from memory. I'll also have really bare bones sketches I did real quick to illustrate what I'm talking about... sometimes.
The main would have consisted of stages all based a on computer functionality:
At the end of each Remix stage, the boss would have been starred Jimmy T. having a dance battle against Waluigi. This boss would have been a rhythm game involving the PC functionalities of its respective stage.
(I swear my drawing aren't usually that bad. I drew this in a rush and am not use to these characters wacky proportions)
Hard mode and Waluigi hijackAfter beating the game, you would unlock a hard mode which would made you go through game but at Level 3 instead of 1. In the Anything goes stage, Waluigi would have hijacked the game and made all Wario themed object Waluigi themed. He also would have gave the screen all sorts of effects to distract you.
Ashley and Kat & Ana bonus gameAs extras, to bonus games would have been unlocked. The Kat & Ana bonus is the same as the WarioWare Gold one with the split screen. Ashley's would have play the microgaes as the window changed size, deformed and moved around. I would have also made windows pop up, or other things but that's not possible in GMS2 apparently.
Also as an unlockable extra would be Ashley's cheats. This mode would give you a spellbook with potions and spells unlockable by completeing missions. Potions and spells have different effects varying from making the game easier, harder, some graphical or audio changes or even randomizing elements from the game. Potions can be used by typing specific keywords into the Ashley brewing screen, each character would correspond to an potion bottle that afterwards be mixed.
Spells on the other hand would be inputs you would have to do on specific screens of the game.
Microgame creatorThe game was supposed to have a microgame creator as well as a stage creator (you can find remnants of the microgame creator in the source code actually, very few though). It would be similar to the DIY microgame creator but would have a few addtions like being able to have variables and built-in gravity option but it wouldn't have a music or graphics creator though you would have been able to import sounds and images. The stage creator would allow to create winning, losing and next mircogame animations by importing images and sounds and the programming them with a UI similar to the microgame creator.
And that's about it I think. This game was supposed to be a bit ambitious as you see and I just didn't the motivation to deliver to due to other more interesting project I have. But hopefully this was an interesting read and hopefully I will not abandon my next project. Cheers!
The main game
The main would have consisted of stages all based a on computer functionality:
- Wario: Space Bar
- Mona: Arrow Keys
- Dribble & Spitz: Arrow keys + Space Bar
- Jimmy: Remix 1
- Kat & Ana: Mouse
- Orbulon: Number Pad
- Dr. Crygor: Keyboard
- 9-Volt: Video Game Classics (unlike the official WarioWare games, this stage would contain references to non-Nintendo franchises as well)
- Jimmy: Remix 2 (unlike the other WarioWare games, Remix 2 contains all of the microgames before this point and just the ones in between remixes)
- Wario: Anything goes
Jimmy T. vs Waluigi
At the end of each Remix stage, the boss would have been starred Jimmy T. having a dance battle against Waluigi. This boss would have been a rhythm game involving the PC functionalities of its respective stage.

Hard mode and Waluigi hijack
Wario.exe bossfight
After beating the Waluigi hijack stage. All the characters would have gotten sucked in a computer and had to fight Wario.exe. To fight Wario.exe, you will have harder versions of each stages in random order and like the GiT Wario Virus boss, phases where you to dodge direct attacks from Wario.exe in between microgames by controlling the character of the stage you are currently playing with their respective PC functionality. Once you beat all the stages, Wario.exe would spawn a froh switch from Wario Land 4 and would have to play every microgames in reverse order before the time runs out. Failing a microgame would decrease the speed and make you redo it again until you clear it, clearing 5 microgames consecutively would increase the speed. Once that's done, the game is beaten.Ashley and Kat & Ana bonus game
Ashley's cheats
Also as an unlockable extra would be Ashley's cheats. This mode would give you a spellbook with potions and spells unlockable by completeing missions. Potions and spells have different effects varying from making the game easier, harder, some graphical or audio changes or even randomizing elements from the game. Potions can be used by typing specific keywords into the Ashley brewing screen, each character would correspond to an potion bottle that afterwards be mixed.
