I can go either way tbh. Rudy or Captain Syrup returning as the main villian would be rad, but a new villian would be just as cool, as long as it's done right.
Wouldn't mind seeing some new bosses while also seeing some classic ones brought back...
I like that each game gets its own villain, because it shows all the different types of people who are even worse than Wario. Though I'd be happy with cameos from former bosses if they're integrated well, and of course Syrup as a recurring...
I feel like Donkey Kong had a similar problem where they barely used K Rool for like 18 years and came up with different villains for the DKC Returns games until eventually it felt like the series no longer had a main villain, and reviving K Rool...
I also wanted to mention this custom WL3 bossfight by BlanchonUltime (another member here!) that builds off of the owl "form" in that game. Another cool example for a direction the boss fights can take.
It's something I would like in a Wario Land sequel for sure. I suspect the main reason they didn't build fights around them is because, like CM30 said, a lot of them either revolve around unpredictable, forced movement (Flaming, Ball 'o String...
That's an interesting point there. I suspect part of it is because most transformations are more about navigation than attacking, like Vampire Wario, Puffy Wario, Bubble Wario, Frozen Wario, etc, while others are more punishments (Frozen Wario...
There are two types of bosses, arena type bosses where transformations will knock you out of the ring, and traditional health type bosses that may or may not include transformations that will stall for time when racing against the clock such as...
I think it depends on how many transformations/reactions there are, I really love how they went all in for WL3 and having them everywhere is a lot of fun, and I feel like there's less of them when they coexist with a health system. So I'd love to...
You know what I think maybe he could make the post credits after all, before I was thinking about how Wario's been less relevant recently compared to how gigantic the Mario franchise is, so I thought maybe they'd sprinkle in a little bit of Wario...
I hope you're right, I would imagine a little bit of Wario here and there, but for him to have a big enough role to be post credits worthy? He'd have more spotlight than the rest of the side characters and that would be hype as hell
Huh, didn't expect them to add a bunch of Mario 2 stuff; Birdo is understandable but I wonder how they're gonna work those other bosses in... answer: they aren't because this is a silly fanservice movie. Still kind of cool to see Mouser...
I completely forgot about that one and it's such a good pick, I like both the English and Japanese versions but I prefer the former just hitting different
The ending song of Wario Land 4, even though it's basically just them combining a few songs from the game once it gets past the 30 seconds mark, is one of my favorite video game songs in general. Of course I'm biased as it's one of my favorite...
