I'm undecided on Captain Syrup, since I'm not sure if I'd want to use her somewhere or use Rudy somewhere.

I’d start with zero mission and not nestroid because it’s super hard and zero mission is one of my favorite games. But you should finish super Metroid, it’s one of the best games ever made and on my top 5 list for sure.
I tried Super Metroid once, never finished it but I enjoyed what I played. I do want to marathon the 2D series one of these days since they are on my bucket list, then maybe I'll try the Prime games.

There's a Wario character mod for Rivals of Aether that includes some quality mash-up remixes; I'm particularly fond of this one but there's more on the original composer's channel. Makes me wish Smash would try to remix some of those older GB...
