In my time of being a Wario Land fan I've browsed a fair share of fanart, and when it comes to portrayals of Wario's original big bad Captain Syrup, I ocassionally notice something that catches my eye: some fanart depicts Syrup as a more...
The thing with Wapeach as a concept to me is that I am not the biggest fan about how some approach it.
Wario in terms of design is an exaggerated Mario and Waluigi naturally does the same for Luigi, since he in turn is very similar to Mario...
Yeah I don't think we need any more 'wa' characters, and I'd rather we had more unique characters to fill those roles instead.
Like I'd rather have Captain Syrup than any version of Wa/Walpeach. And I'd rather have just about any interesting...
I think on the surface this makes sense, though Terrormisu's resemblance to Peach is purely coincidence and not something intentional like what Wario was originally trying to do to Mario. I want to bring up this Tumblr post for making an...
I gave the Steam demo a playthrough and... yep, still can't fully comprehend what I'm playing! It's great, though I wouldn't say there's much gameplay inspiration from WarioWare, moreso just an absurdist story and visuals that would be at home there.
I could barely comprehend that trailer... so onto my wishlist it goes! It reminds me of old computer freeware in a nostalgic way, and those animations are delightful.
It's got the wacky stylings of a WarioWare microgame and the gameplay of something like Wario Land, Pizza Tower or AntonBlast, so there's definitely some charm here. Saw it advertised on Reddit here:
And the link they posted was this:

I think Wario Land 4 is objectively the best, there's a meticulous attention to detail in a lot of the spritework. The only thing I don't love about it is that the colors are a bit too bright, likely to compensate for the original GBA's lack of...
The latter. You can't rotate sprites without stuff like mode 7 on the SNES, and that would affect everything else in the level. So dynamic sprites often just had a ton of frames.
Part of the "thought they were bats" train... after all, birds usually have beaks and not fangs. Though I also though the green part of their face was a pig-like nose, and the two little dots its nostrils. But when you defeat one, they're...
Ooh, I'm curious how those fire boulders are animated. Does the sprite rotate along the ground like in Wario Land 4, or did you have to manually make a spritesheet with each frame rotating?
